I like Winky but this fight is all wrong for him. Williams by wide UD. Too many punches, too many angles, too far a reach.
Paul's gonna be hitting Winky's gloves all night long. By round 3 or 4, Paul's gonna be asking himself "What the hell did I get myself into?"
please people....stop talking about the soliman fight...just stop...i was ringside for that one....and winky was sick as a dog....his team wanted him to pull out of that fight because of it...but winky knew he could go in there and still win it and he wanted the paycheck....stop using that fight as any kind of a barometer
I thought Winky clearly won that fight anyway, I never agreed with everyone who said Soliman made that close and possibly won it.
funny you mention it....cause i believe two of the scores were like 115-113....and i saw brian adams on the way out and i said "115-113...did you think it was that close"?....he didnt really answer my question but he said "i thought winky won the fight"......i dunno....i didnt think it was that close....the crowd got into it and behind soliman....because winky isnt always the most crowd pleasing fighter....and basically he was in there just trying to get through the night
All aboarrd. And BlueApollo - you don't beat Winky by outworking him. As Rummy, said you do what Hopkins did and take him out of his rhythm. If you beat Winky by outworking him, what do you think Sugar Shane Mosley tried to do?
That's pretty much how his fight with Trinidad panned out. I think Williams might do a little better than Tito did, but he will still be outclassed. :smoke
