Bernard Hopkins part of commentary team for Lightweight Lightning tomorrow!!!

2nd time. He and Atlas switched places for a Friday nights fight a few weeks ago. Glad to see B-hop doing it.

So this is a GBP PPV not HBO?Like the Casamayor vs Marquez one?

 

GB is running the show. I think HBO is basically just distributing it. It's all GB fighters except Valero who's with Top Rank now. I'm hope Bernard does more talking because most of these other commentators usually suck.

 

Bernard would make a great full time commentator 1 day...he doesn't get biased when talking bout the different fighters in the ring!

 

Hopkins dropped by Ann's gym yesterday, got a chance to see him in person. Also met the CEO of golden boy and a few others from Golden Boy.

HBO has no ties to this PPV unless I'm mistaken (and I hope I am). Much like how Top Rank has their Latin Fury BS, This PPV is all GBP.

Lightweight Lightning should be a fun night of fights. Any wrinkles with weight so far?

 

pretty cool, altez - It really is something when you see boxers in real life.

Nice to see Hopkins getting into commenting. While I think the HBO crew does a decent job Teddy Atlas could (in my opinion - should) be replaced by BHop anytime.

 

I think Hopkins could conceivably take Bob Papa or Max Kellerman's job with ease.

Hopkins seemed really off last time (I think it was two weeks ago.), but maybe the crappiness of the fights were bringing him down. When he's good, though, he's really good. I just wish he was good more often.
