To me, this isnt THAT difficult a question, I think Morales was a better fighter than Lewis but I honestly cant guess which way ESB will vote judging by past posts on both guys, Im very interested to hear opinions on these 2 modern greats.

    Cheers :thumbsup

at heavy nearly every opponent has a chance , simply because of the power that can be generated at the weight.

if morrales was a heavyweight and took 1/5th of the punches he did in his career, despite having a granite jaw at the lower weights, it would have cracked at heavy where if you are hit often enough , even by moderate punchers you can get ktfo.

the weights are 2 far apart for this to be fair to either man.

  4. What a silly question

How can you even begin to compare styles between a HW and a FW

Lewis has the legacy, but Morales was considered to be higher on pfp lists while they were active.

Was morales an undisputed champion ?

    No

    Did he avenge his losses

    No

Did he go on to long

    Yes

    Lewis just

But make no mistake morales was great, what you have to remember morales was big for a super bantam being 5'8 and 72# reach.

These threads about Lewis p4p are silly. He was 20-30 pounds heavier than his opponents and bigger as well. You just can't make an argument in his favor over a guy like Morales no matter what his resume is, that he avenged his loses etc. If Tyson, Holyfield at 215 beat a 245 Lewis, Bowe and a couple of other skilled big SHW than you can make a case even for TOP5 p4p.

He's not comparing styles he is asking - Was Lewis better at HW or was Morales better at Featherweight. Its like asking, who is better P4P Jimmy Young or Pernall Whitaker. The clear choice is Sweet Pea cause he was more impressive at his lower weights then Young was at Heavyweight. This is just a harder question.

Look at how both men ended their career, whats that tell you? plus Lewis can honestly say he has defeated every man he has ever faced. Morales went on to lose to Pacquiao twice, lost to Raheem and to David Diaz on his way out, while Lewis beat Klitschko on his way out.

What are you talking about If Tyson and Holyfield beating Lewis? Bottom line is they both got beat in 3 fights no matter what the judges say. Lewis would have beaten Bowe prime for prime, it would have been a tough, close fight but Lewis has the edge.

with heavies it doesn't really work that way cause one heavy can be much bigger than the other. For example Holyfield was a better fighter than Lewis and Bowe when he fought them but he still lost to both because they had such a big size advantage.

Still though Lewis or Morales is quite a close call but i would give a slight edge to Lewis.

Their are plenty of Morales fights that I would rewatch, only one Lewis fight I would rewatch. I vote Morales.
