I personally think his speed is overrated. It looks good against the diazes and ODLH's of the world.

Manny Pacquiao has not improved as many believe he has either. Just fighting Marquez is a different assessment to fighting David Diaz and a weight drained, past prime fighter. It's just facts. *******s will moan, but it's fact.

    :patsch He is 5'4 OMG?!?!?
But still what can be done to improve speed? I also have fast hands but I can't seem to relax during sparring.

All IMHO, of course; your mileage may vary:
Not much can be done for speed, though finding your optimum weight helps and pad work shows that speed where to go. I'd work on timing and counters for a few weeks to deal with others' fast (or faster) hands & your nerves. Even if it doesn't take, it never hurts to add more tools to your toolbox! Do the nerves come on when you're in the hole warming up or 30+ seconds into the session?

With the whole not being able to relax in the ring problem. Maybe I misunderstood you on that.

Definately. So much so in fact that people think he does alot of things better than he actually does - the way that happens.. I've seen this guy do the pads in person. He's ridiculously fast. Inhumanly fast. Much more so than people can comprehend watching his little arms moving on TV - and he's carrying his entire frame behind alot of those punches. That's just a bonus handicap to what his speed really and truly is. We're talking about handspeed. When you isolate his stationary single rear hand leads they're about as fast as a human shoulder and fist can carry a boxing glove.. It's ****ing disgusting how fast that man is.

I just noticed when I shadowbox my hands are hard to even see but when I try to punch with power, it feels like I am going in slowmotion.

I agree. Pacs speed is about as big a deal as Ed Valeros power and everyone knows that Edwins power is at best average! Lol

No, I mean like when I punch with power I start punching slower and my muscles feel more rigid.

Pac is like a Wasp or Hornet you can only withstand so many stings and your out.

He almost looks under cranked in that second video but its just his amazing twitch fibres exploding all at once, Hatton just does not have that kind of speed, I guarantee when Hatton loses Mayweather will get an injury surprises surprise and vanish again.
