Rocky Marciano vs. Bernard Hopkins, at a catchweight of 180Ibs., who wins and why?

I have the fight, watched it many times and completely disagree ... it was razor close ... Tyson had thirty five pounds on Marciano ... I compared Hopkins to Rocky not Mike ...

 

Garbage post all around.

Hegrant claims hopkins is a ripped 170lb. yet marciano is not a ripped 185lb? there is not an ounce of fat on him. I once again challenge his position when he says hopkins is naturally bigger than rocky.

The Kid is the one who takes his ball and runs home to mom. You just did that. Apparently, you are way behind the average wisdom of people your age, and it appears the same with boxing knowledge as well. Its too bad because I had high hopes for you. You just don't have a good eye for boxing as some of the other vets here. dont take it personally, it is just one mans opinion, or should i say one "kids" opinion. is that more appeasing for you?

 

Hopkins-Jones razor close? are you talking out of your ass again? Jones won 8 clear rounds and that was with one bad hand, I might add.

 

I have respect for Rocky Marciano, but Hopkins as far as a DEFENSIVE SPECILIST and a great counter puncher would have off set anthing Marciano would have did.Marciano does not have fast hands and no skill but alot of Will. One thing about a fighter having Will and no Skill is that he's limited and can only fight one way. Hopkins is verstile and can adapt to any style. In any rate Hopkins UD 12 or 15 ROUNDS WITH EASE.

 

Hopkins can't hurt Marciano, whereas Rocky could pretty much decapitate Bernard. Rocky would just go bombs away until something broke Bernard and he fell down.

 

Hopkins is a great counter puncher and a defensive expert in the ring. Marciano, would throw shots Hopkins would see coming a mile away and Hopkins would adjust to marciano punches all night and would bust Marciano up in the process. Marciano, like Gatti got busted up in several of his fights ( even the Joe Louis fight).

 

Calling Bernard naturally bigger than Rocky is laughable. Rocky was a heavyweight and he could have been over 200 easily if he'd trained for it. In this age he'd be Tyson-sized.

 

I think it would be a mismatch with Marciano wearing him down and eventually knocking him out late

 

Marciano on points. I actually think the old codger could cause Marciano some issues here.

 

BIG DEE HERE= Rocky by 3rd rd KO unless Hopkins runs like a thief.

 

Oh, he had skills alright. Not the flashy skills one may be looking for, but he made what he had work for him beautifully.
