sure. training will only carry you so far. genetics and the will to win matter the most i think..

With the advances in transport and communication, and the internet, it's kinda hard to think of a genuinely remote place in the world anymore.

Unless you live in Antarctica or northern-northern Canada. Or central Siberia or a bedouin tribe in the middle of the Sahara.

With the web, for the most part, people aren't out of touch. But some of the places mentioned on this thread can't possibly have provided the training necessary to be world class. So I have to conclude: the great ones are naturals.

    Yeah, I think you're right.

Many of the harder hitting ATG boxers of yesteryears were probably discovered by people who saw them in a street fight/bareknuckle prizefighting or a backyard boxing slugfest somewhere, and saw a lot of potential in them, and offered to be taught real boxing by actual trainers.

So the natural talent must be there from the start. A diamond in the rough.

Remote place????? That depends where you live at? Regardless of what we might think sometimes, USA is not the center of the planet. If you live in Germany, Russia is not too far. If you live in Puerto Rico, no Caribbean island is too far.
