i love hatton but pac man's hands are way too quick and he has a fast work rate...hatton is going to get overwhelmed and i wouldn't be surprised if it is early.

if there's a KO i'll be very surprised if there's an early one either way.

Im just saying i wouldn't be surprised because pac man wants to make a HUGE statement to get mayweather jr to come back for a possible fight and with a huge win against hatton i would not be shocked....just words though.

Malignaggi. Light travels fastest and Malignaggi's punch has "light" written all over it, what with 5 ko's to his name..

I'm new, so try not to rip me too much..

I find it interesting that people are assuming that Pac will dominate at 140, when he he has only fought at 130 or below his whole career. He only had one fight at 135, and the fight with DLH at 145. He brings very little power up to 140. He would be exposed very quickly against any of the jw's with any power, explaining why Hatton was selected as an opponent. Well, the money was probably the first reason. Do you really see Pac beating someone with the power of Urango? Kendall Holt? (although he would quit fighting for rounds at a time)

I like Pac, but the truth is he probably isn't even in the top 3 fighters at 140. He just isn't big enough. He never was or will be. They only reason he is up here now is to find marketable fights. No more, no less. A win over a shot DLH has made the myth bigger than the man.

    welcome to the board.

    that's a good post too.

i guess the obvious answer (for some) is that if pacman can do what he did to oscar - shot or not - then it lines him up for even bigger paydays that he couldn't make at his preferred weights.

what pacman does have in his corner that guys like holt and urango don't have is natural talent. not at pac's level anyway. how much of an impact that can have will depend on how effective pac can be at higher weights.

but you make good points - especially that pacman is fighting in 'untested waters' and one win over oscar isn't a guarantee that the script will hold true from that point on.

hatton proves himself to be dumber by the day. Pac will destroy hatton with his speed.

Well, he's got to say something to hype Paulie as having been a decent test to showcase Hatton vs. blinding speed. Still, it's like if Cotto said his fight with Paulie was a test for Cotto vs. an iron chin.

I agree with a lot you have to say here except one thing. Are you seriously trying to suggest that Hatton is not a strong Light-welter? Make no mistake that he is as strong as any of the others and he completely outworked and outboxed Juan Urango. Hatton is a big LWW and I genuinely believe he is the best in the division.

I didn't say a word bad about Hatton. I didn't mention him because he doesn't have the one punch type pop that those two and others at the weight have. He is a bull physically, but he isn't going to spin your head around with one shot. I was basically saying that Pac won't be able to take these guys shots. He'll be able to take Hatton's shots, but not his style...

Everyone is thinking that Pac is going to blind Hatton with speed. That would be great if Hatton was a boxer and Pac had legit power at this weight. Hatton's game plan should be simple - find and angle, eat a jab, fight in a phonebooth and his strength and size to wear down Pac. He isn't going to give Hatton a boxing lesson because Hatton will come forward and brawl with him. How will Pac respond to the beating to the body and the wrestling inside for 12 rounds? We have no idea. But if I had to bet.... probably not nearly as good as 99% of people think.
