this is so true. these haters got some crazy logic. how can they even say that he ducked guzman, valero, soto, juarez for the great 3 :nut their hatred is so immense that all logic goes out the window. by the way he would knock those b-level fighters out. the only one that would pose him problems would be guzman.
Pac was being recognised as a fearless warrior at the time with the best recent competition. Few years down the line haters start spewing out crap about him fighting only old and shot men and some n00bs start to believe it. Pac fought the best available competition around the circumstances at the time, no denying that. His crap fights were simply tune up's, Solis, Larios, Fahsan...heck he used Larios as a tuneup and Larios went on to capture a title afterwards. Solis was undefeated at the time and is now ranked #1 contender by both IBF & WBA...as a tuneup.
Pac has beaten so many good opponents in legitimate fashion they just abandon all logic. It's definitely a race thing for many people.
I disagree. Chi would have gotten knocked out by Manny easy. I think David Diaz would have knocked out Chi. Why would Manny need to fight In Jin Chi? Nobody really cared about him. He may have been the greatest fighter that has ever come out of Korea but he aint on the level. Guzman is another story. Guzman woulda worked Manny. Korea doesn't really produce any good fighters, id put them just above Malaysia and beneath indonesia in producing talent in boxing. Chris John woulda beat In Jin Chi too.
indonesia is a nobody in asian Prof boxing. It has always been Thailand, Japan, Korea and the Phil boxing out in the lower wt classes. Nothing much to gain in an In Jin Chi fight. Manny fought the best possible opponents out there period
I only recognize the Asian fighters that had gone out of the safety net of their country. Thailand has their Galaxys, Japan has their Harada, who has Korea had that has actually won outside Korea to be even mentioned above indonesia. By far I think it is the Philippines that has done Asia the most proud in boxing. They have produced more world beaters than others with notable wins againts legends to name a few. Elorde beat saddler Navarette beat limon Espinosa beat Galaxy Villa beat Wilde Cefrino Garcia was MW champ etc. etc. Continuing the trend with Manny Pac and others I seem to see more often than other asians on t.v. Harada beat jofre etc. etc. Im sure Korea got some really good fighters but you can't list Korea in with Japan, the Philippines and Thailand who have had fighters that have made names in the sport. They need to step outside Korea and win to get recognition. Korea has In Jin Chi and doo koo kim who had the biggest heart I've ever seen (God Rest his soul) who both lost facing world class opposition. Indonesia has Chris John who beat JMM and arguably beat Rocky Juarez.
When could he have fought Guzman? Guzman was never established enough and he kept canceling fights. I'll give you Casa but considering Diaz was his first fight at 135, Im guessing Diaz was just a testing the waters fight..he then got the DLH fight after which at the time was considered more dangerous than any of the LW's and 5* the money.
Guzman was a no name that time only hard core fans knew him and we all know what happened to him later on... And then Casa was older than MAB, Morales and JMM when pac moved up to lightwieght... It's a good name but if pac beat him the same shot/old excuse will be thrown at him.
