The last round of his match with Ike was amazing. Only the exceptional chin of Ike saved him and the ref was looking to stop the fight. Vargas was also a great performance.
Vargas is overrated, whereas Hoya is seen as what he was. A talented fighter, who fought the best, but came up short for whatever reason.
I love watching the Vargas fight. No Vargas wasn't overrated the guy simply fought the best too early on in his career.I mean be for real Vargas fought Winky ,Quartey ,Trinidad and Oscar before he was 25.
His loss to Mosley in 2000. That was the best DLH ive ever seen. He had that killer instinct. Unfortunately, he was fighting a beast in Sugar Shane.
the ike quartey round 12 was amazing... like someone said before, he had the killer instinct and heart, that dlh made me a fan
The first JCC & MAG fights were DLH at his peak. He did have his moments of boxing well against the likes of Tito and Shane in the rematch, but he was never as sharp imo as he was at 140.
Wow. Well this was a quote from Oscar after the Vargas fight. The match was billed as "Bad Blood". I had a huge bet with my brother (A Vargas nuthugger) that Oscar would win and this quote by DLH was the salt in the wound. I wish I could find it on Youtube somewhere....
Its hard to say. His prime was between 97 and 2001. He was really masterful for majority of the fight against a prime Trinidad. Perhaps he was at his total best when he beat Chavez but personally I think it was when he fought Gatti. Also worth mentioning was his fight against Castillejo, total domination.
