Can you explain me what's your problem with Arreola coming in at 255?

SmokinJoe, what attributes do you see in Arreola?

I see an out of shape, slow, plodding HW that gets hit way too much and hasnt faced any real competition yet.

His conditioning isn't bad... but everyonee complains about the fact that he's such a slow plodder. Coming in at a lower weight would help him be lighter on his feet and would also allow him to be more fluid in there which would inturn help him with his combinations and defensive reflexes. Don't kid yourself, coming in overweight can be a big detriment to your fighting abilities.

I see a chronically out of shape slow plodder who always gives more than it takes who will never have an easy night against the best the division has to offer but somehow would get his W. I think he doesn't have a chance against the Klitschkos but he's more than capable of outlast and outwill the likes of Chagaev, Povetkin, Chambers and so on.

I don't know about that. Those guys acctually have good boxing skills. Arreola is a slow unproven brawler.

The Difference between Forman plodding and Arreola's is power!!! Forman had bone crushing power and Heavyweights at the time respected his power and would not stand in front of him. Arreola does not have the type of power to make the other heavies respect him, which always going to be a problem for him no matter what he weighs, if he had forman's power I guarantee you , recognition and his style would no-longer be an issue.

Povetkin would outbox Arreola easily. Povs is bothered by slick guys with fast hands who can take advantage of his somewhat dodgy speed. Not fatties.

Chagaev would probably kill Arreola if he was healthy. People forget Ruslan is extremely refined with power in both hands and a fighter who has proven time and time again that he can go a hard 12 rounds. Arreola hasn't. That said Chagaev is probably done as a serious heavy due to injuries (and potential blindness) so yeah, maybe Arreola beats this C grade version of Chagaev.

Chambers? Maybe if Arreola suddenly develops the ability to get stronger as a fight goes on. Otherwise? No.

And the rest of the HW Division? Sure he'd beat the likes of Fres Oquendo, Hasim Rahman, Tony Thompson, Ray Austin and Mike Mollo. Then again Foreman right now probably beats those guys too.

The relevant names in the division beat him...and it's not as close as people try to make it out to be.

Meet the new David Tua. Same as the old David Tua.

Nipples will never be as good as Tua in his prime, that's for sure. Well, the overweight doesn't exactly help him but I agree that it is not as important as it is made out to be because Arreola is simply not particularly good, whether in good shape or not. He has only a somewhat recognizable name because of the non-existance of American contenders right now.

Arreola isn't in the same league as Tua.

Imagine that lardass in with Lennox Lewis :patsch

Granted Tua was stood on his head and embarrassed, but at least he fought bravely to the final bell!

Having been overweight myself before, I know that just a short two mile run taking 15 minutes every day helps to get weight off...... perhaps Arreola should consider doing the same?

This is what I tried to tell people, what you said. Arreola has never looked gassed ever in a fight. Arreola is gonna be tougher to beat than most of these easily swayed and gullible people on this forum think. Arreola's heavy hands and good chin make him very formidable. Also, these people don't realise how difficult it is to tie up Areola in the inside. Arreola looks very tough.

Stop mentioning Arreola and Foreman in the same post. It's getting disgusting. Please don't embarrass yourself and show such ignorance by even implying that the dope Arreola is any comparison to a real heavyweight fighter let alone a legend of the sport.

I'd actually like to see that...especially if it ends with a punch similar to Lewis-Rahman II.

Honestly I meant to compare two HWs with good skills who ate themselves into bolivian as one might say. Talent wise Tua is above 95% of this entire class.

I think Arreola has really heavyhands that boxing hasn't seen like this since George Foreman. Doesn't even look like Arreola throws or punches hard, but then the other big opponent guys get hurt easily. Arreola is a beast too when you try to tie him up. No one has yet to tie him up and be able to hold him. Arreola is gonna KO McCline bad, because of this, and I don't think anyone sees it coming except me and Smokin Joe.

Everyone keeps thinking of the Travis Walker fight over and over again, a fight that ended in a vicious Ko by Arreola too. Boy, I bet every fighter wishes they had bad terrible fights like that.

Please tell me this is a joke! I don't give a **** if the guys throws in the 8th rounds the same amount of punches he did in the first one!!! I want him to DOUBLE the amount of punches he throws in the first and then keep up the same pace the rest of the fight. Also not to get hit that much. If he was in shape he could have KO Malcom Tann in 3rounds. I want to see fighters, not two manatees dacing and hugging.:dead:dead:dead

Just about everyone expects McCline to lose. It's what he does. Loses big fights that he shouldn't.

That doesn't change the fact that Arreola is ridiculously out of shape, ridiculously plodding and amazingly sloppy. Instead of improving (which is what good fighters do), he's regressing. This will be his 3rd fight in a row over 250 lbs and while you can beat the Travis Walkers and Malcom Tanns of the world at 250 lbs of flab and ass, that won't work when you step up in class.

Even in this dreck of a class.
