Has anyone heard anything about who John Murray might take on in his next fight? He seems to have been quiet since his win over McAllister.
Murray needs to trigger Hennessy..... I have grown to like Big Mick, and whilst I aren't particularly excited about Murray, he needs a change - painfully inactive for the best part of two years, why not join brother Joe at Hatton Promotions? Look at tonight..... no disrespect to Lenny Daws and his opponent, but does anyone really give a stuff, compared to a British title defence or even a non title 8/10 rounder aganist a decent opponent?
he was chasing the french bloke that beat thaxton but negotiations stumbled.
I'm suprised that negotiations with Mezaache broke down, I can't imagine him getting a better paid fight than Murray in the UK. As BB points out its probably time that Murray splits from Mick H., trouble is I don't know who would pick him up and do a better job....he does need to be fighting more than twice a year. BTW, I like Lenny Daws...he is always good value :good
Thaxton mentioned something about fighting Murray tonight. He said he wants a rematch for the Euro title but needs to beat Murray first. Anyway I though Hennessy had options on Frenchy? Must be easy to get Murray in with him.
Don't get me wrong I don't dislike Daws, but he is hardly a seller is he? At least more than 0.1% of Joe Public know who he is!
True enough. You could have a Witter - Daws title fight in the back room of a pub and the only people watching would be me and my old man.
This is it tho..... why did Witter and Daws fight on the same bill in November, but not against each other - unless they are close friends? Wouldn't be a bad fight, Witter by KO obviously, but better than some Argie who liked the taste of canvas?
Now you are trying to get me to explain the inticate nature of boxing politics. I haven't a clue why match-ups like this just don't happen, the fans certainly appreciate them and proper match making did happen years ago (sound like an old ****, don't I?) After the Bradley debacle a Lenny Daws type match-up is just what Witter needed.
no but certainly better than murray who takes a heck of a lot of punches for guy of his age. Been involbved in far too mnay wars already..
thaxtons too old and shot he'll be battered and recive similar treatment to what meager took from murray
I wouldn't ask anyone to explain politics in boxing..... It just sums up Witter's career though, having six months off following a split decision loss, then fighting a guy who likes posing on the front row of football team photos! Not wishing to pile into Hennessy (again) but Witter needs to ditch him as well, let Mick concentrate on Froch and Fury..... surely someone can sell him better?
