Modern society's weak mindedness to buy into whatever the press tells them is cool. Mike Tyson was one of the most despicable human beings to achieve the level of fame that he did of all time. That is without actually killing someone. Talk about weakminded. To root for a sub human piece of garbage like Tyson is paramount to rooting for Hitler.

Sorry about the harshness, I was at work when I posted and was having a crap day. None the less though I do view Tyson as a despicable human being. I don't see how there really can be much debate about that. Some people like to root for the villian, and that is understandable given human nature. I do think though that money was the big motivator for Tyson to be created into the myth that he was by the press, as controversial headlines equal big ratings, sales, etc. So it was beneficial for the press, promoters, managers, etc to build up Tyson into a mythic type figure. Much as the same could be said about Ali. The sad part to me is all of the people out there that bought into all the bull****. It seems that there has even been a generation that was too young to remember him fighting that also think he is some sort of mythic figure also.
