 True, true... got me there!

I'm still boggled about Paul Williams' being discovered by his school bus driver/trainer. Guy's life is full of weird coincidences like that, I guess. I need to remember to check out what his hometown real estate tycoon thing is all about...

Moron. Like Merchant couldn't have told Arreola "I think I would like to see you in with a Top 5 heavyweight first."

Whatever happened to journalistic integrity, Larry? This guy couldn't carry Max Kellerman's spit bucket.

Larry doesn't work for HBO in a journalistic capacity, he provides opinion.

I would much rather have to listen to Larry than Kellerman.

Merchant is a Pacquiao nuthugger in the highest order. Even beats the forum fanatics here.

Totally off-topic, but is Morrissey big in the UAE? (I assume that's the United Arab Emirates.)
I heard something last month about a new album coming out, which surprised me - not a big fan myself, but maybe the new stuff will win me over.

Anyone with any sort of sense of the grandeur and poetry of boxing will appreciate Larry; anyone who looks at boxing as just a fight will miss his nuance. Simple as that.

Ha! So, people love Larry because he "tells it like it is" - unless he's talking to a fighter he likes, then it would be "uncouth". He should have said "fight someone in the top 10". Simple answer.

I like Larry because he doesn't tow the HBO line - there is real integrity there. He also has some great, funny lines, most of which come from the fact he doesn't worry about offending. But he has his clear bias to action fighters and that can limit his ability to give credit where it's due.

Nope. Not really. But malls here sell his LPs, including the one you are talking about, Years Of Refusal, his latest offering after the respectable Ringleader of the Tormentor, which means there might still be some unsuspecting fans here, like me.

The new album is OK, with typical Moz titles, themes and lyrics similar to what he had given us in his comeback album You Are The Quarry (which I highly recommend for you btw) but the sound is what set this slightly apart from his previous outputs. Very manly, as one critic aptly put it.

I suggest you try to hear his singles (which are also in the LP) first before you decide whether this will ignite your love back to him or you are really already a lost cause, :yep since the singles here more or less wil give you an idea on the quality of the whole LP.

I'm Throwing My Arms Around Paris is a clever Moz-type pop song, and the way he croons on the chorus is a classic Morrissey.. You can imagine him really swaying his arms and wanting to embrace the city when he sings it.

Something Is Squeezing My Skull is a straight, rocking song, though not really like it that much.

What I like is All You Need Is Me. Now, that is what a vintage Morrissey does! Confident, brilliant lyrics and an upbeat sound. You're gonna miss me when I am gone... I've been playing this single over and over again, making it my breakfast, lunch, and dinner for the past few weeks after realizing it how good this song is.:deal:good

But question: what was your favorite Moz LP then? Or the Smiths' for that matter?

Not really, he was going "We have a new MW champ" until Lampley interrupted him and stole his line.

No, we hate him because he's unecessarily negative and even combative with the rest of the broadcasters. He's always bitching and complaining about something even in some prety good matchups that I've seen. And that kind of negativity can become very irritating after a while. I always get the sense that he lacks a great deal of respect for what these fighters do in the ring.
