Chris Arreola. Can he be a REAL threat in the poor Heavyweight division?

Don't know what you are drinking, but it has to be some serious stuff if you are not embarrassed to back a glorified club fighter like Arreola. And btw Wlad was never "KTFO". The was never a knockdown he didn't get up from. And the South-African golfer would have a field day with a defenceless plodder like Nipples. His ugly mug is the perfect target for his fast straight left. This would be really ugly and not just because you have to watch Arreola. Brewster 2004 also wouldn't miss the target with his left hook.

You want to talk embarrassing? Sure. Embarrassing is when you root for a chumpion that has been KTFO by a retired boxer who was in the middle of realizing his golf dreams; a chumpion that has lost to a guy that currently has 20 losses; a chumpion that lost to a guy that can only see from one eye. Yeah. Very Embarrassing.

    :rofl :good
And remember, EPO Wlad had over 40 professional fights when he got thrashed by Sanders, who I might add, was a mediocre heavyweight in his prime.

How does a fighter in his prime with over 40 pro figts lose to a 38 year old, unconditioned, Tiger Woods wanna be with flabby skin hanging off his body?

Let me put it this way. I think he has very good skills and very respectable power. But I think due to his lack of commitment he is not showing 100% of his potential. And he will need it against the Klitschkos. May be after he losses one fight he will start working the way he is supposed to.

I thought the eye injury occured in the Lyachovich fight, which was post-Klitschko-Brewster I.

The Klitschkos, Haye, Povetkin, Chagaev, and Dimitrenko all beat Arreola at this stage. Arreola doesn't seem to have the commitment necessary to be an elite fighter.
If a guy comes in 20lbs. overweight while trying to land a world title fight it simply shows he's not dedicated enough to the sport. Arreola has some skills and good power, if he just came to fight in shape the Americans would be hyping him up as the next HW champion, that alone would land him a big fight with Wlad or Vitali. Shame he comes in with C-cups instead.

In this division almost anyone is a real threat though Arreola doesn't seem to care much with the shape he comes in.

I would love to see Arreola fight Povetkin, now that would be a major test Arreola WON'T pass.

    I agree.

And I don't get why HBO promotes him as the best American contender, when he is from Mexico, and on their Ring LIfe series, he seemed to talk up his being the best Mexican heavy this far, as his proudest accomplishment.

But HBO wants to push him as an American. He merely moved to America, but he is, and is proud to be, labeled a Mexican heavyweight. That is where his real novelty is, being the best Mexican heavyweight thus far. And that is what he states, proudly.

But HBO has tagged him the best American contender..........I think its a deseperate and shallow spin to try and make America look like its got a new contender to face to the dominate Europeans........but American don't. Mexico does. :good

That said, forget about facing the top heavyweights.......I think even Chambers or Povetkin, either one, would outbox Arreola. Povetkin may even out box and KO him.

Arreola is NOT a top contender of this division

the top contenders are Juan Carlos Gomez, Povetkin, Chagaev, Dimitrenko, Haye

don't even think Arreola would beat the 3rd stringers like Eddie Chambers, Tony Tompson and Valuev

I guess it depends what you think top-contender is.

    I think being top-10 heavyweight makes you a top-contender.

Of course Klitchkos would be favorites if they fought, but with hes power he has a better chance than most contenders to upset one of them.

I mean it's obviusly wasted time to discuss with you but just to set the record straight:
    1. How was Sanders retired when he had a fight just 4 months before fighting Wlad? How is playing golf in any way significant in this matter? Wlad is playing golf himself, why don't I hear you saying about his oppenents they lost to a golfer?
    2. Purrity was more than 10 years ago, how is that fight in ayn way significant right now? Wlad was 22 years old, had never gone 8 rounds, simply gassed and wasn't "KTFO" but pulled out by his trainer.
    3. Brewsters vision was perfectly fine when he fought Wlad in 2004, the eye injury you are referring to ays mentioned happend after that.
    4. Sanders and Brewster (in the shape when they beat Wlad) would easily beat Nipples.

That would be a true test... not fighting old man McCline.

I would love to see Arreola/Chambers:good
