One is handicapped and one has parkinsons, so they have both done extremely well with training fighters considering. Though it seems to me that Floyd lives on his sons reputation more than his own!
Floyd will change fighting your style to a more defensive. Roach will improve and polish your skills.
Both were good fighters in their day. Not as good as Roger Mayweather but still good. As per training, I'd say Roach is better overall. Both are top 5 trainers but neither is on the same ground as Nacho. Naazim Richardson seems to be breakin in on their shine as well.
Something they have in common is that they lost all their big fights. Roach lost to Haugen, Camacho, Chacon, D. Tyson and Floyd to SRL and Starling twice.
Indeed. That said neither guy is the most physically gifted. Finely tuned technically but athletically not good enough to stay on that level. Fighters like them make good trainers but usually never reach above a certain level as fighters. I think the only really good boxer who made the jump over successfully is Buddy McGirt.
True. I think someone put the whammy on Buddy though. What's that other trainer's name who is a very aggresive trainer. Eddie Mustafa I think. Was he not also a champ at one time? I wonder why SRL is not a trainer. Mosley would be a great trainer especially that his son boxes.
