Whatever weight this fight happens, marquez is gonna get annihilated. He aint that great and got beat by Chris John who was a featherweight!!!!

Marquez was a featherweight too and Chris John is a damn good fighter himself.

If they fight at 140, Floyd will win. If they fight at 147, Floyd will win. I can't think of a weight Marquez would be favored at. Still, I look forward to this match-up if any thing because both fighters are fun to watch.

If Marquez has any balls he will make the fight at 140-145 pounds.

All this arguing and negotiating man just go out there and fight. If you lose you lose no big deal go train and come back another day.

In the "old" days guys would fight all the time a different weights hell Billy Conn fought Joe Louis who was like 208 pounds at 166.

I am sick of these prissy fighters today.

My points exactly. If he got beat by a featherweighjt, what chance has he got against $$$no 1 welterweight or light welter if fight is made at that weight. :p

    147 would favor floyd
140 would be a more even playing ground

its damn simple some boxers can move up weights alot easier than others, their body's can do the same biz with say 7 pounds extra on

and it has happend in the past and it will keep on happening, a fighter moves up 1 too many weight classes

de la hoya did well moving up, until he went up to 160 where he just could not handle the power difference
i would also argue that mosley found it tough at 154, where he was still quick but did no have the same pop he is used to

so i say yes a fight at 147 would favor floyd alot more, but who give a **** let's just get it on
i for one did not want jmm to move out of lightweight unless a fight with pac materialized at 140

Floyd has fought at 147+ for the last couple of years, he's undefeated, and remains as one of the few true stars of the sport; do people really expect for him to submit to another fighters weight preference especially when the potential fighter is a "warm up" opponent to the real prize that he eyeng in Pacquiao? :huh

eh no :-( i for one do not think this that is why they meet halfway at 140
    jmm is 135
    floyd is 147
lets stop the ***** footing around and get the fight made half way at 140 simple, how hard is that realy

Why does it matter if its at 147. Why do people think JMM must put on extra weight. All it means is he wont need to cut much at all. Same for Floyd.

Floyd is pretty muscular at 147, going below that is not really a good idea, especially when he hasn't done it in a long time.

I think he can but you're right it might be too late to even want to do it to his body.

Marquez won't need to cut, if at a few lbs.

Don't get me wrong, personally I think Mayweather belongs at 140 and I would embrace a move back down to face Dinamita, I however realize that he has all the leverage in this scenario. His place allows him to dictate terms and I don't see why he should have to work extra hard to cut weight when he has this leaverage.

    :think

i agree he does hold all the big cards and if he realy does not want to he does not have to move down, it is up to him

but it would be a more even playing field at 140, jmm has more of a chance,
i am a big jmm fan
but i think this fight for him right now is very very tough
so you can see why i want him to have a better chance putting a good show of himself
