Which strategy would you advise Froch to employ to beat Taylor, if you trained him?

    For Froch:

Exploit the things that have worked before against Taylor:

    1) Take him to the ropes
    2) Make him chase/waste punches early and wear himself out...follow this with lots of pressure in the late rounds
    3) Don't let the fight be close
    4) Exploit his total lack of defense with good, smart activity

As far as JT goes...I don't know enough about Froch to really say...I will say that he needs to be sure and avoid wasting energy and stay in the center of the ring. Fight like he did in the 2nd Pavlik fight.

I can't help but wonder if this is too much too soon for JT. I would've like to have seen him fight a few others at the new weight before moving to someone of Froch's assumed caliber. The flip side of course is that Froch hasn't fought anyone who is even close to the level of Taylor's recent competition.

I'm excited about this fight and, as a good Arkansas boy should, will be pulling for JT...that said, I think this Froch guy, who I know nothing about, will knock him out in the 9th round.

Froch needed to challenge Taylor to something other than a boxing match. Too late I guess. :D I have only seen Froch in the Pascal fight, but based on that, this isn't about what Froch can do so much as Taylor making stupid mistakes. I don't see that happening.

Froch: Constant pressure, but use the jab and try to work off of it. Make him feel your power early. Dont concentrate on so much winning rounds, but make him work every min of every round. Like Andrade vs Bute, you know you cant win a dec., plan for the late knockout.

JT: Relax, relax, relax. In your last fight, you looked more relaxed and fought like a vetaran. His only chance at beating you is to tire you out and try to ko you in the late rounds. Jab him to death, and then shoot off combo's. Hook to the body, he is wide open for it. Dont go straight back, and stay off of the ropes. Did I say relax?

Agreed, Taylor needs to get that jab going like a triphammer and keep on his toes. Froch is not exactly workrate-friendly so outwork him, but make sure to keep enough in the tank for the later rounds. You're in your hometown so the cheers of the crowd can help sway the judges in a tight round, so long as you keep active. And keep off the ropes!

Froch, well, it's all about pressure and counterpunching. I'd much prefer him to be busier but that's not his style, so, just be sharp and aggressive.

If I was McCracken I'd be telling Froch to use his great jab to blind Taylor and frustrate the hell out of him early on. Test him with a few bangers and break him down. Disciplined pressure and cut out the recklessness in the Pascal fight.

If I were JT's trainer - just go out there and outwork him. Taylor is quicker but not as heavy handed. Use your boxing skills and don't go near him, stay off the ropes and it could be a ud victory.

Pretty much yeah. I think froch has the chin to go into the first round to test what taylor has left after the pavlik fights. He should try rushing taylor and make him very uncomfortable from the first bell and smoother the speed of hand advantage.

Then froch can change the pace to his usual one for the rest of the fight slowly breaking down taylor. I dont think taylor wants this fight as much as froch. However people are also underestimating taylors power, especially against an opponent like froch who has quite an open defence.

Another thing to note is that taylor still cannot fight backing up and is vulnerable against the ropes. The final point is that alot of people are overestimating froch's physical advantages in strength over taylor. Froch may be a thudding hitter but he is not bull strong. Although taylor is not as physically strong as pascal was he is still just about as strong as froch.

Taylor is a very good boxer. If the referee had stopped the first Pavlik fight when Pavlik was hurt (and he wouldn't have been criticized for doing so) he'd still be undefeated.

He was the better boxer in their rematch, and should have won.
Anyway, that's all hearsay, but the point I'm making is: Taylor is a very good boxer. And he beat Hopkins. I'd be surprised if Froch wins.

Advice to Froch is: Taylor lost to Pavlik in their first fight because he tired himself out. Try and get him to do that again and you have a chance.

Taylor: just do what you do, stay off the ropes, stay on your toes, move, don't back up straight, don't square up, don't go toe to toe

Froch: faint with the jab, counterpunch hard, push Taylor back against the ropes, unload big punches in bunches in the championship rounds

Carl needs to put pressure on Taylor... not just periodic pressure, but CONSTANT pressure. Also he has to work behind his jab... not just throw it, but actually work off of it, something I didn't see him do very often against Pascal. The more Carl does this, the more he increases his odds of winning by decision and it will give him more opportunities to land the big punches he needs for a KO. And KEEP YOUR HANDS UP.

Taylor needs to box... stick and move. Showcase his speed at every given opportunity, not only to score points with the judges but to break Froch's spirit. Work off his jab, obviously... he should be able to land right hands frequently if he does this. Go to the body... nobody has tried this much and it may be Carl's weak spot. Most importantly keep moving and don't get hit... Taylor's best defense in this fight may be his offense.
