After a great performance against Campbell I haven't heard anything else about him. I think a lot of guys will duck him because of his size and style.
Since he is from South frica it's pretty hard to hear anything new till he signs for a new fight. It's not like he throws the first pitch to the Dodgers or eats at McDonald's for the paparazzi.
he could fight paulos moses.2 africans for a "world title".i think they are managed by the same guy as well
when he came to america to take that fight he didnt get it approved from the african boxing committee or something like that so supposedly he was in big trouble for leaving without permission and that situation was being ironed out..... but that was talked about around a week after teh fight was over so im sure by now anything can be going on with him
Damn that sucks. Hope everything works out. He's an exciting fighter and I would like to see more out of him.
Not the same guy. But Funeka and Moses have negotiated for a fight before, so there's a possibility I guess. Not sure why Moses would want to fight someone like Funeka though. He'd be much better off continuing to fight out of Asia, where the lightweight crop is weaker at the moment. Moses really isn't that good.
African athlestes are also known to be in the best shapes ever. The Ngoudjo guy used to run marathons.
Trust me Ali Funeka will fight soon -- probably we'lle try for a name fighter from the States to fight in South Africa -- I'lle check on this side and give feedback..
What the hell is this phenomenon where good non-American fighters put on great performances in losing efforts for an American audience, then end up on global milk cartons? Calling Kessler, Sturm, and now Funeka...
