Jermaine Taylor. The guy has difficulty in getting motivated at the best of times.

The question is - do you think he'll have been motivated enough fighting Carl to have put in a decent camp? Does he even need to? Discuss

well...it is a title shot, so that alone would motivate even the least motivated of fighters

Weird. The seconds before I saw this thread I was thinking Taylor seems to be guilty of dismissing Froch and assuming him to be inferior simply because he's a Brit.It may be subconscious,it may not be,but I think its the case.
Not exactly the thread question, but along the same lines.

Obviously he cares because it's a big title fight. As for whether he gives a damn about Froch the PERSON? I don't think he knows enough about Froch to give a damn. Taylor is rather aloof when it comes to boxing. I bet when they first presented him with a Pavlik fight, he said "Why would I fight some girl for? And at what weight?"

about Froch, it's for the WBC belt and Froch has the power to KO Taylor. I doubt Taylor wants to end another big fight as a lump in the corner, this is a very winnable match if Jermain comes in motivated.

Strength of mind is extremely important in pro boxing. 3 or 4 round amateur bouts don't test you like the pros does. I'm hoping Frochs strength of mind can help him prevail.

Only one fighters mental strngth should be questioned here, its not Froch for me.Although in truth,Froch is very much unproven at this level,an unknown quantity really

Jermain Taylor may be the most disinterested fighter I've seen since Michel Moorer. He just doesn't give a darn about boxing, I remember Manny Steward saying that Moorer never watched tapes, never cared about the outcome of any other fight, never attended bouts, never had the passion, he just boxed because he found he was good at it and it made him a lot of money. DiBella said once the same thing about Jermain.
