1. He called Mayweather out 2. Mayweather is the draw, not him 3. He has MUCH more to gain from a win then Mayweather does 4. Pac fought Oscar at 147 5. He's gonna lose either way so he might as well eat well before his beating :hey
Money is the only reason he should be taking this fight. Let's be honest it'll be target practice for Mayweather at 147 and not too much more competitive even at 140. If you don't have physical size or power advantage over PBF then you are usually up **** creek. I suspect he wants that trilogy with Pac more than anything else and is just using Mayweather's name for some leverage. JMM should go and fight Valero instead and unify 135.
It just highlights why Mayweather retired, he is not a true champion. . He does not have full confidence in himself, and has to hold every conceivable advantage unless he is fighting an old man.........DLH.
these are good points. this is a once in a lifetime opportunity and a win-win situtation for jmm unless he gets battered so badly which is highly unlikely because of floyds style.
You can talk about what JMM should and should not do but the reality is that this fight should not be happening. There are sooo many fights out there that people would rather see FLoyd in and for you to retire when there are fights like Cotto, Margarito, Williams etc out there and run out of retirement at the oppurtunity to fight a light weight it hurts your credibility.
pbf seems agreeable for this fight to be at a catchweight of 145 while the marquez camp wants 143. i can't believe that it is only 2 lbs that is preventing this fight from finally happening. this fight should already be signed so let's get it on!
We both know that this is not meant to be taken as a tune up fight. They will try to sell it as 2 evenly matched vicious champions going at it.
so now Floyd wants to be a welter huh?, then let him fight 1, or else he can move down to a catchweight and fight Manuel there....
Why would Marquez want to fight Mayweather? There is a high probability of losing and a low probability of making a big paycheck.
It depends on the in ring weights really. If Floyd comes into the ring at 149-150 I see no issue with the fight being at 147. If he was to come in significantly over that then there would be an issue.
Sorry man but I just can't take Floyd's side on this one and if you've ever read my threads in the past you know I was one of his bigget supporters. He has gotten to a point of his career where he just wants to protect the 0 and is not willing to take any real chances. If he wants to do that fine but I will not pay his salary while he is doing it.
If This matchup for floyd is tune up, well he'll definately need to get rid of that ring rust quite quickly because JMM at the moment his firing.
Amen... who the hell jmm think he is, calling out floyd and then wants floyd to go down in weight for him?...jmm better man up or else he really is a ******...
