Would love to see this fight. Why the hell would JC not want it is what I ask myself if he is so good. He would surely make the biggest pay day of his career, beat another undefeated fighter (arguably in his peak) and further cement his legacy and if most are to be believed then he would also win comortably. Something tells me deep, deep down that if he fought Froch and got caught he knows he wouldnt get off the hook the way Jones and Hopkins let him off.
OK, you could argue that Taylor was damaged by the 2 Pavlik fights, but to say he is far from his prime is ridiculous.
Because Hopkins & Jones don't have the same experience as Froch of big fights and finishing them off isn't it.
Wouldnt be a big pay day. TV networks are only now getting into Froch. Froch's prize money for the JT fight was £750k. Froch doesnt sell tickets. That's why Joe C wont fight him.
"To be honest it would be frightening what I could do to him if we fought, he doesn't seem to realize that holding your hands up and defending yourself is a pretty vital part of boxing." ahahahahaha
Exactly, Froch needs to show far far more than a good chin and strength. He needs to show he is fit to occupy the same ring as Calzaghe the finest SMW ever. Beating Kessler, Sakio Bika and Kelly Pavlik would help.
Now Joe's retired Enzo hasn't got much to cling on to anyway (who's the biggest fighter in his stable now, Maccarinelli?) so I doubt many people really care what he thinks. Froch does need to drop his obsession Calzaghe though and move on.
"Enough is enough with Carl Froch calling me out, I will tell you categorically that I would not fight the guy even if I did come out of retirement, which I am not going to do," he told Tuesday's South Wales Argus. "I am sick to death of him drumming up free publicity for himself by using my name, no one who watched the fight with Taylor can believe he is in my class, he's my stalker, nothing more. "For the first eight rounds against Taylor he was like a goalkeeper with no defense, he was being outclassed and outfought by a middleweight who has seen better days. "To be honest it would be frightening what I could do to him if we fought, he doesn't seem to realize that holding your hands up and defending yourself is a pretty vital part of boxing. "I have seen absolutely nothing whatsoever from him that makes me think I should fight him, I couldn't motivate myself knowing how easily I could beat him and possibly hurt him badly". "I wouldn't fight him even if I did come back, what would be the point?"
