To those of you who have been to big fights before at the MGM Grand.......Will I be able to buy these tickets off the street there? With this economy do you expect prices to go down as ticketing websites are having a really hard time selling them right now? Thanks for any help.
depends buddy, the only tickets left are about 500 a pop online...if it hasn't already it will sell out
Depends on whether they sell out. Went to Calzaghe Hopkins and tickets were on sale by touts at weigh in and out side T&M 4 70% less than face value. We were upgraded from£250 tickets to $750dollar tickets when we were inside T&M due to empty seats, so we ended up with a result anyway.:happy Tickets 4 Hatton Mayweather were selling 4 up to 10 times face value, but everyone had more ready cash then. Check if you can still buy them online b4 u leave, if u can it could be well worth taking a chance. BUT its a long way to go to watch it on the TVatsch
I don't think you are going to find any deals, but, I don't think you are going to find outrageously priced tickets either. Officially the fight is a sellout. It was announced last week. Plus, before Oscar-Pac it was obvious they had overpriced the tickets and mis-estimated the market for it. MGM was offering package deals for tickets, hotel and spending money at a discount off of face. That isn't happening this time to my knowledge. I'm in the $500 seats and on ebay there is a single $500 seat auction for the row in front of us going for face with no bids on it. I think if you want to go you'll be able to find tickets.
Yeah I'm just hoping to sit in the cheap seats and pay a little over face value if I have to. I don't think it will be a problem.
Tickets shouldn't be too expensive outside, the only time they were really expensive when i have been was Hatton vs pbf but they were still cheaper than sites were selling them online (razorgator etc). I too was upgraded from $250 tickets to $750 tickets for the hopkins vs calzaghe and I got ringside for Calzaghe vs RJJ the night before the fight for $250's and we sold our $250 tickets to some guys for $150's. This fight is sold out so it will be more than face value but it took ages to sell out compared to Hatton vs PBF so you will find them at ok prices.
I'm thinking that if you're a fight fan in Vegas, you already got tickets. If you're flying to Vegas for the fight, you probably already have tickets...(with the exception of myself of course) These online sellers aren't just going to eat the tickets they have left.....They'll be outside trying to break at least even on them. Worst case scenario is I take in the Azteca America show the night before and go closed circuit on Hatton vs. Pacquiao. Still not a bad weekend in Vegas.
If you are not able to get tickets, then I would definetely go closed circuit, I've done it a couple of times and I've had a blast every time.
