That nobody is really assed about Hatton vs Pacman.. Considering it's for the pound for pound title.. I can remember riding on the bus to Uni, last year. And listening to passangers on the bus chatting about the fight, just normal people. Floyd Mayweather is still the man...
The media circus was more active with the pbf fight, definetly. With the language barrier and Manny being a decent bloke there has been hardly any ****-talking to hype things.
I was thinking just that today, the week before the Mayweather fight everyone knew it was happening but this time only boxing and casual sports fans know about it. And as others have said the main reason the fight was so big was because Mayweather is such a brash, arrogant arsehole.
the mayweather fight was brillaint the buzz the excitement. People talking to me about BOXING the coverage, the anticipationg, the chatter everythiing about it was great. this time isnt so good i dont know why but its not the same.
The Mayweather fight gripped the country like the world cup. I wasn't expecting anything like that, so I have been easilly pleased with it.
I'll get excited about the fight on Saturday, but at the moment I'm still buzzing from that stunning Froch victory.....
Actually I've been amazed by the amount of people who this week have said to me "What did you think of the Froch fight?"! Loads of people who don't even follow boxing have said that to me, who wouldn't normally even know who Carl Froch is. Only a small few have asked my opinons on Hatton-Pacquiao though (or rather "the Hatton fight", remembering Pac's name is a bit of a stretch for them).
Agree with that, i think they are repeating the Froch scrap on ITV4 on saturday, all good exposure for the sport.
As has been said, theres no pantomime villian for this one so its a harder sell to the casual sports fans.
