Oscar is still seen as better than Ricky because he won titles coming up and was pretty effective when he was younger with good opposition. Ricky was good but doesn't have the resume of Oscar. Ricky has to win this fight to get out of the stigma of losing to Mayweather by knockout. This is a must win for his legacy. If Ricky wins this he shows that maybe that weight was too high for him when he fought Floyd. He wins this and he is in good shape as far as legacy. This is at his real weight so he will not have good excuses if he loses also.

No, he'll just be remembered as the inferior fighter..

Pacman would deserve all the credit.

Yes, to an extent, but the general consensus of Oscar failing in his biggest fights isn't fair as he was right up there and yes maybe there are decisions that went his way which shouldn't have but there are certainly cases were he should've won, he could hang with the best of them. We will find out if the same can be said for Ricky this weekend in my opinion.

    Absolutely.

DLH fought 9x against fighters who were considered(at some point) the #1 PFP fighter and IMO only lost 4 of those(Pac, PBF, Mosley 1 and Hops)

For comparison's sake let's take a look at how some of the more popular fighters of his era fared in this department.

DLH--fought 9 #1PFP fighters and won 5 of those (IMHO)
    PBF--Fought only one #1 PFP fighter(DLH)
    PAC--Fought only one #1 PFP fighter(DLH)
Trinidad--Fought 4 #1 PFP fighters and IMO lost 3 of those fights.

DLH gets a bad rap now but IMO history will be a lot kinder to him.

:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl You count all of De La Hoya's questionable decisions as wins. Basically you are making him look as good as possible.
Officially he lost more than 4 of those fights. He lost against Mosley 2 even though that was questionable, and he lost against Tito(also questionable). De la Hoya "won" officially against Whitaker but that decision was a disgrace, and he also "won" officially against Felix Sturm when he clearly did not do enough to deserve a win.

And please mention these 9 one time #1 p4p fighters because I don't remember them all. JCC, Whitaker, Hopkins, Mosley, PBF, Tito, Pac are all I can remember. BTW he only fought Tito, Hopkins, Mosley, PBF, and Pac in their primes, and he lost all of those fights.:good

NOPE, just the Trinidad fight and the second Mosely fight. Do the math again!

Sturm was not ever considered PFP #1, please read carefully.

And just to turn the tables on you; Trinidad "won" officially against DLH but that decision was a disgrace!

Did you skip part of my post? I already said the Trinidad and Mosley 2 decisions were questionable. I never said Sturm was considered p4p #1. And you never mentioned these supposed 9 #1 p4p fighters. I sure hope you are not counting Quartey because he was never close to being #1 p4p. And the Trinidad decision might have been a disgrace but what was more of a disgrace was DLH running for his life during the championship rounds.

If PacMan loses, he's the inferior fighter then, with Hatton deserving all the credit, is that what you're saying, and it's something you won't change after Saturday, right?

The only disgrace on DLH/Tito fight was that Oscar corner allowed him to think he was far ahead. He was ahead after 9. But not by much. He lost the fight because he gave the last three rounds away. I saw it exactly like one of the judges. Tito by one point.

Don't expect anyone with "Puerto Rico" stamped all over their avatar to be even remotely objective to DLH's career so I'll make this my last post on this subject before it turns into a troll-fest.

But for the record I said DLH fought 9x against fighters who were once considered #1 PFP NOT against 9 #1 PFP fighters. Reading is fundamental!

Either way that is 7 #1 PFP fighters on his resume which is way better than any of the other fighters I mentioned.:good
