the census allows you to choose other or mixed. Despite this, most hispanics in America chose white.

Im not talking about census, Im talking about employment application in Puerto Rico that you don't have that other or mixed race option so if the surveys do go by employment applications and stuff like that we basically don't have a choice other than black or white.

??? Was there not a hispanic option? Something seems fishy...why would a hispanic person select white with the option to chose other, mixed or hispanic? Seriously don't you see how ridiculous this sounds how valid is this survey why would you take it as fact?

The Census is pretty valid. They've been using it for hundreds of years. Anyway, the government realizes that hispanic is not a race. The Census now allows for Hispanics to further classify themselves according to race. When pressed about race, most Hispanics seem to identify themselves as white over any other racial classifaction. These discussion seems to be getting out of hand anyway. It's not like I'm making this stuff up. I'm giving you guys info from both U.S and P.R government administered Census surveys. People can identify themselves with any race they want. However, for practical purposes, Puerto Rican and/or Hispanic are not racial classifications; which was my origional point.

1899 and to be in America you have to be white. I would say I was white to with all the racist bull**** that was happening back then especially to the blacks. Again, 1899? Why did you even post about PR's in the first place unless you wanted grief and a war with others. This is not the first time you go at it with the PR's. It is your opinion and right to freedom of speech, but it makes one wonder if you are indeed a racist.

because White people created the census for their agenda. Who cares and it is true about the job applications. Who is dumb enough to check off mixed? Why don't they replace that with Dumbass instead?

Seriously, you guys need to stop with the accusations of racism. I have never made any racist comments on this forum. Because you dissaggree with someone doesn't mean the other person is a racist. The main point that I made in this thread is that Puerto Rican is not a race. That is in no way racist. The Puerto Rican census has a section where people can identify themselves according to race(Puerto Rican and Hispanic are not options). This means that the Puerto Rican government agrees with me. We will never advance as people in regards to race relations if we cannot have an honest discussion about it without someone being called a racist. Don't be coward and pull out the accusations of racism just because you don't have a valid counter point.

Reg I'm more than willing to aide you in your efforts to improve race relations. I'm still awaiting your response to my posts...I am aware of the fact I can be a bit of a revolutionist but its only because I'm passionate about doing away with the injustice in this country. It seems you've been sucked into twister, I'm here to help you out ya heard.

BigReg....One, I am not a coward. Two, I did not call you a racist. That PR census is ****ed just like the American census. PR and Hispanic is not a choice so there is your answer. It is not agreeing with you, you are agreeing with it. It is a bull**** census so why would you believe in it or back it up? A true PR was a Borinquen. As you read, they were there first and then other countries came. It is like America, Columbus put a flag on the American Indian's back yard and that is the end of there country. It is a nationality not a race. That is what you wanted to hear, right. Again, I did not call you a racist, but you sure do argue with the PR's on this forum a lot.
