Can we agree that no one will post

    a. He only won because Pac is above his natural weight class.
    b. He only won because he cheated and held a lot
    c. He only won because Pac has become 'shot' overnight like Tszyu did.

As far as I can see there can be no excuses if Hatton loses as it is his weight division and both fighters are on neutral soil.

So for once if the guy you're rooting for loses, just be sporting and admit that the better man won on the night. Otherwise they should change the name of this site to eastsideexcuses.com

It WILL happen if Hatton loses.....nothing we can do. The people that know boxing will know the truth don't worry.

But Pac will win so this thread is redundant anyway :good

    NO EXCUSES

Both men are near their prime, around the same age, close in size, no significant edge in experience, and both are considered top ten PFP.

This is what I was driving at.

This thread is not redundant either way. Nothing is a certainty in boxing.

Pacquiao is above his natural weight class, so that is one disadvantage for him, is it not? It wouldn't stop it being an amazing victory for Hatton (and I'm rooting for him) if he could pull it off, but why is it not a bit of a factor?

it is above his natural weight class, but he's moving down from 147 after a massive win. when you look at there size there's not a huge difference between them.

    Chill man...

I don't think it's an excuse. There are many factors in fights, and for Pacquiao I think that this would be one here. It's why multi-weight champions are so impressive. Even at 147, Pacquiao was formidable against De La Hoya, so at 140 I expect him to a be ferocious.

If you ask me what is his best class though, I think it might have been 130, but I'm not sure. I think it has changed somewhat over time. At the start of his career, it was lower, something below 120, but later on a bit heavier was better for him.

Fighters tend to have an optimum weight, for Tyson 215ish, for Hatton 140, for Pacquiao I'd say 130ish. It doesn't mean that Pacquiao won't be a great fighter at 140, but I think that it's not his best weight class.

Why does it have to be so black and white? Can't something be a factor, without being an excuse?

No, i disagree, if pac does win i think it more impressive then if hatton wins,,,i think DLH was shot, an fought with no will that night against pac-man, so i don't count that as a great victory like his morles an barrea wins, i put his fight over diaz above the dlh win,,,,,I think Hatton should win this, i think he got the power to Really hurt pacman on the inside, an i think that is going to be manny down fall,,,i see this done by the 7th

I am not saying this is a weak win for hatton, no he will have to earn it, but till i see the results an what manny puts forward,...An i am betting on hatton, a few hundred,,,,

    You're right, no excuses. BUT

    Just in case Hatton wins....

He will not be p4p #1. Could we agree on this also? Because if he wins half of the threads here will be the British claiming he's the goddamn P4P KING.
