Are Setanta doing a good job of covering boxing?

To me it's all about the quality of the fights not the broadcasting methods and analytics,
Setanta deliver.

in June you will have 2 absolutley classic fights. Absolute barnstormers one week after the other on Setanta.

Cotto vs Clottey then Haye vs Klitschko successively, all for the standard subscription.
It doesn't get any better than that. FACT.

 

there have been a few things that have pissed me off a bit, and of course there was the froch/taylor thing which made me write a furious e-mail to them, but apart from that they have been all right

 

best thing for boxing in the UK IMO, how much would we miss if they weren't around?

 

People that complain about Setanta are idiots. I don't care about their commentary, their presentation or even that they can't get all the fights I'd like to see. The bottom line is they have shown fights we would never have seen otherwise.

Would Sky have shown Margarito/Cotto? Margarito/Mosley? JMM/Juan Diaz? Pacquaio/Marquez II?

Sure they miss the ball on some but those four above were fantstic fights and that's not including Haye/Macca (not the main event, but Mitchell-Johanneson was fantastic), Lopez/Penalosa, Darchinyan/Arce and many many others. Top class international fights and not restricted to a UK name being involved.

Christ, they even made Haye/Klitchsko happen through their intervention. And people complain?

Ridiculous.

How many other channels would spend so much time, as Setanta did last night, on a fight that's being shown elsewhere? They may not be perfect but they're the best around.

Setanta are value for money, and i only subscibe for the boxing. With the exception of the odd Premiership match I don't really watch anything else on there. And when they lose the Permiership rights I'll still subscribe due to the fights they show.

 

setanta are the undisputed boxing coverage champs this side of the atlantic

berto urango needs to be got, as does mayweather marquez

 

If they get the berto fight may will be a good month atm its terrible
