Hopkins knows Dawson is too much of a risk for too little money. Dawson needs to make people demand the fight by doing something dramatic. If he KO's Tarver in their rematch - that might help his cause a bit.

Hopkins said himself he wants to retire and leave room for the next generation. Beating Chad Dawson would mean he'd be retiring leaving no- next generation.

I don't think Hopkins cares much for Pavlik, Froch etc and has no problem beating them.

But I think Hopkins has alot of respect for Dawson and wants to leave him to mark a great legacy.

I don't know after watching Froch the other night against Taylor I would be gunning for him. I don't think he fears anyone + if Chad gets his name up a little more it would be worth more money!!

Hopkins didnt put much effort in making the Adamek fight happen after he called him out.It seems like people are giving Hopkins a pass on that and acting like it was Adamek who didnt want the fight.Adamek was practically begging for a Hopkins fight as long as the payout was reasonable. It wouuld have been a much more of a challenge than a Froch fight, which would be a joke after watching Froch-Taylor fight.

i think b-hop would take dawson to school.. also i have another suspicion that the reason he wont fight him, is that he is patriotic and doesnt want to ruin another one of americas top prospects, and wants to take out the euros - froch, adamek etc

If Hopkins saw Dawson as a winnable fight, he would have already called him out. :deal

Dawson is the most feared man in boxing. Maybe on Earth.

I said yes, but with a caveat. He'd rather face Froch or Adamek, but deep down he probably knows that none of them generates enough cash to make him want to fight them. If he actually faces a non-draw fighter like Froch rather than just blowing smoke out his ass as usual, then it becomes clear to me that he's ducking Dawson.

    Of course he is.

he was there during BHOP's run at LHW and he instead chose to not take on other LHW's for the Ring LHW Belt.

Hopkins does not want to fight Dawson. He wants to make every fight count. He is 44 years old and fighting Dawson will not mean much. He beats Dawson and then Dawson was not that good obviously. He loses then Hopkins was terrible and beat a depleted Pavlik.
