I dont know why people think that we owe somebody special treatment just because they did something great in the past, that was just as much for them as it was for us. Fenech's record as a trainer is atrocious but I will say that Im not sure it would have made all that much difference if these guys were under someone else. In fact Fenech I thought was a good choice to train Oganov, Victor is strong and can punch and never in his whole career bothered to learn anything else. His short stocky build and aggressive style would have been perfect for Fenech the mould I would have thought. Cant expect Fenech to change the habits of a 30 year old with nearly 100 am and pro fights combined in 1 fight. He is a watch thieving, fruiterer bashing ******* though.
On the Fenech topic I lost all respect for him when I was a kid watching him train at Newtown police boys club. Whenever another person walked in to train that was around his age or older he waould give them **** and ask them to jump in the ring with him(and he was champion at this time)and most of these guys were just there to train but he had such a big head that I at a young age then maybe 9-10yr thought he was a total wanker. Laughed my head off when my older cousin who is the same age as Fenech knocked him out cold at a night club after giving my cousin some lip. And beleive me my cousin was taller but probably weighed the same as Fenech but I tell ya he could punch like a heavy as I seen him fight a couple of times on the footy feild and the last time was when he was locked up and was playing footy outside and there was an all in brawl I will allways remember this my cousin being skinny playing in the centers and this big prop ran at him to punch on my cousin stood his ground waited for him to get close enough and then wham one punch this huge prop was on the ground ko cold.So loved it when Fenech had a go at my cousin and got Knocked the **** out. Allways known him to be a wanker since I was a kid and nothing has changed with him.
Green gets hit by everyone he fights. He has lousy defense so in that respect I would give Oganov some slight chance given his power. Oganov wouldnt get near Mundine, even with one eye.
why did this not make the news fenech being a high profile figure? a. nobody who seen it wanted to make an easy few hundred reporting it to the media. b. fenech used his influence to keep it hush hush. c. your cousin is craig smith d. this is complete bull**** i'll lock in d eddie:good
After reading all this conflicting gossip it would be good to meet the above mentioned to make an opinion. As conflicting as it sounds there has got to be some respect there somewhere?
Treated me like an absolute champion when I was at the Hopkins v Eastman weigh in... Couldn't say a bad word about him. To be honest, I don't really care what he's like out of the ring anyway. He's a 3 different weight champion (4 really). That's all I care about.
Naseem Hamed was an elite boxer but an absolute piece of crap outside the ring. I think it does matter the quality of a person, that why sports people can have such a distorted grip on reality and accountability as the general puclic idolise them to an extent of forgiving what is patently unforgivable. Jeff Fenech stole when he had no need to - what does that say about him!
Beleive me Bort I have nothing to gain by telling lies and its not in my make up and I will tell for sure it did happen and Id say the reason no one heard of it was more then likely (b) eddie lock in (b).:thumbsup
Bort tell me, did you have any problem believing MSTR when he said he meet Mundine on the massage table and he was a big jerk? That sounds the more likely story to me. There is ample evidence that Fenech is a monster. In fact he would admit it himself in his lower hours.
dont know the MSTR massage story but 2 people who say they have met mundine tell 2 different stories.1 says hes arrogant 1 says hes a top bloke and i suppose joey was a powder freak for a decade without it being in the media so sorry percy davo.im a bit of a sceptic.
I think there is a massive misunderstanding on this forum which is we are all individuals and we all live seperate lives. In the ring is fair game but out of the ring i'd say is private unless invited. Gee this watch thing! I remember when I was about 22, I went to an ATM machine and someone forgot to remove their bank card so I thought f--k it & I withdrew 'wait for it a massive 2 hundred dollars'. We all make mistakes but Karma catches up on you so let it be! I wonder is there anyone else out there game enough to publicly display a mistake they have made in their lifetime? OR is there name/pride too big!
