Here's another excuse he may use to avoid a fight with Pac: Bob Arum. And this isn't far-fetched at all...hell, he did that with Cotto.
Acutally Arum stoped Mayweather from fighting Cotto in 2005, not the other way around. It doesnt matter though, Pacquiao-Mayweather will do 2mil buys and Arum anit turning down that kinda of money
I got the feeling Mayweather "retired" to force a Margarito/Cotto fight. With both of them somewhat out of the picture, Floyd is going to cherry pick JMM, and then price himself out of a Manny fight. I'm not a Pretty Boy hater, but Floyd isn't going to take a chance against someone who might beat him.

Mayweather has to fight Pacman. If this does not happen then he is avoiding him. He has the skills to beat Pacman but not the ability to try it and see what happens. This is why I think Floyd is not that great. He will beat Marquez who is a much easier fight than Pac, and then say he is the greatest fighter of all time.
