I am just wondering, is their a upcoming fighter close to Pac skills in the Philipines that will take his spot after he retires? I mean, how sad can it be to Filipino's after Pac retires. Its like Jordan retiring from Basketball. These are the Pinoy fighter that I can think of: Nonito Donaire <---- Maybe AJ Banal Rey Bautista Bernabe Concepion <---- This guy might be something special What do you guys think?
Id say Donaire. It looks like he learnt that beautiful hybrid hook from Oscar De La Hoya. But the sad truth is the lower weights won't get as much attention, as the current weights that pacqiaiuo is fighting at. But hardcore boxing fans can clearly see he is somthing special. Shame his division isn't to deep.
Donaire is it. Not too many PI prospects to get excited about, we are just going to have to wait 10 years for the young PI fighters who have been inspired by Pacman to be ready. If you want to see someone with an identical style like Pacman, I suggest you look up Florante "Lil Pacquiao" Condes, he fights just like the 2003 version of Pacman and has a lot of pop too, he just doesnt have no where near the workrate and tenacity that Pacman does.
Conception fights at a higher weight and has tons of pure ability. I think he'll be the "next" Pac Man so to speak. That said there probably will be no Pac clone. Guy is very special and we should appreciate that;
It definitely will be a sad day for *******s when Pac retires. Hopefully Manny would have inspired these guys to appreciate boxing beyond him and they will evolve into hardcore boxing fans.
Yeah, um... Boxing is like many other sports... you love the game but you their is always a guy or team you are rooting for. So enough with the name calling.
Relax, just stating the truth. And what do you mean name calling, what happened to "..being a ******* is a bad of honor":think
Just because you haven't heard of them doesn't make them scrubs. Raul Martinez was a damn good little fighter who a few on here picked to upset the odds and Nonito dismantled him. He will carry the torch after Pac and could well win titles and become the #1 at super-flyweight and bantamweight when he moves up. But it's fair to say he will probably never hit the heights that Pacman has, very few ever have/would.
Who has Raul fought that is any good besides Nonito? Was he ever tested with at least a B class fighter?
Here we go with 'who did he fight' blah blah blah. You ever heard prospects? Guys that look to have great attributes, dominate decentish opposition and look to be potentially very good fighters? Who did JuanMa beat before Daniel Ponce De Leon? Nobody about from half decent guys like Jonathan Oquendo and Giovanni Andrade, but we all picked him over De Leon because he was a good little fighter, with great attributes and huge potential. And B class fighters? Hell B class fighters are very, very good fighters so it's besides the point whether Martinez beat a B class fighter or not. Hell even Donaire himself you could argue that Vic Darchinyan being his best win is only a B+/A- type fighter. And Martinez beat a good little fighter in Isidro Garcia anyway, who he comfortably decisioned taking nearly every round. And incase you didn't know Garcia is a former WBO flyweight titlist who had been in with guys like Montiel, Arce, Mares and Eric Morel. *On the subject, the story of who Garcia came about to get a shot at the WBO title and win it is one of the ATG boxing stories. He wasn't originally scheduled to fight, but Jose Lopez - the guy he beat - had his opponent pull out hours before. Instead of cancelling the fight, Garcia was asked to step in. He was in attendance sitting in the crowd apparently eating a dougnut at the time, borrowed a pair of shorts and a mouthpiece, got in the ring and beat Lopez via UD.
