Good post! I feel the same way. I think maybe I was not seeing the truth of what inevitably is JT and Chad's downfall but it has indeed become too obvious to ignore!

Dude, all you had to do was look at him! Body language tells more than words quite often!

I will say this in Taylor's defence: he's much more of a bad ass then Dawson is. I mean he just doesn't take the punches well and that wears on him mentally in fights. But he's always showed a willingness to address this. Like even in the Froch fight he was still banging in the last round but by then he had alreaady drained himself too much to hang with Froch. I don't think the chances of us seeing Dawson go out on his shield like Taylor is obviously willing to do are not great.

P.s. didn't see the post fight but if it was as bad as you guys said it was then I'd imagine this guy was just a little over awh-ed by the HBO experience. Shame.

I just think that is how he is. It has nonthing to do with his confidence. If you saw the pre-fight interviews with him in the first fight this is how he was. He became flustered with Tarver talking over him and became angry. He is just not a good public speaker. Just my opion.

P.u.s.s.y Sydrome is Quite Common in Fighters
it seems to set in when they get tired and don't want to carry on

AMIR KHAN- Suffers Bad from this syndrome - Apparantly someone never told young amir that the other fighter will punch back?

TAYLOR AND DAWSON - i agree

HOPKINS - Had a Mild dose against calzaghe and kept reciving low blows
    from the invisible man.

MALIGNAGGI - Had a dose against hatton

HATTON - had a really bad case of this against Pac and his arse was twitching like a rabbits nose in round 1

FIGHTERS WHO ARE IMMUNE TO ***** SYDROME

CALZAGHE - To arrogant and rich to suffer from this plus is scared his dad
    might shout at him!!!!

FROCH - To dumb to be affected and wants to impress his hero calzaghe

    TYSON - Animal

Yeah totally agree. I mean don't get me wrong I still love jermain, he's a top class guy and a very good fighter but nothing exposes weakness like boxing. And if there's one thing that I've learned as a boxing fan that if a fighter you like has an obviouse weakness always be prepared for it to be explioted in a way that makes him look real bad. Whether its Darchynian against Donaire, the prince against barrera, or mosely against wright and forrest.

    Good post.:good

I think people like Dawson needs to wake up in certain fights. Like Joe sometimes.

I know it sounds strange but those two knockdowns by Hopkins and Jones in the first rounds were the best things to happen to Calzaghe in the fight, in my opinion.

Joe likes to cruise sometimes, and those knockdowns woke him up and then he realised he was actually in a fight and could lose. He upped his work rate after that and became a more focused boxer.

Maybe Dawson needs those wake-up calls too.

Yep. That kind of thing just makes Joe remember to get focused while in Chad's case he does not seem to know how or be able to handle those situations. Calzaghe always had the ability to adapt and this is what usually separates the great fighters from the good fighters!

Dawson I think needs to fight Tavoris Cloud, who is a pitbull fighter, and get taken to the wall and lose. He needs a shot of life to remind him of why he is fighting, not just to keep his belt, but to got out and prove himself in the ring and FIGHT.

I don't want to see Chad end up like Taylor :-(

Excellent post. That is the difference. Hopkins has it, and Calzaghe had it even more so. Dawson's a very skilled and talented fighter, and seems like a good guy, but I wonder if under big-time pressure he'd be able to adapt in the way that the great ones do.

Unlike Jermain Taylor, Chad Dawson would beat the **** out of Carl Froch. Both fighters have their flaws, but Dawson is just another league compared to Taylor, and I like Taylor too.

I'm not too sure of that considering the similar problems they share, plus Dawson's somewhat suspect chin.

hahahahaha did you see Dawson's fight against Epfiiano Mendoza? The fight would look like that except Froch would be a 12 round punching bag.

Dawson eats unskilled boxers like Froch for breakfast.

    Great post! :good

I have to admit that I when I saw Dawson give Admaek a boxing lesson, I thought I was seeing the emergence on a superstar. Silly me, did I get that wrong! :nut
