roach maybe be able to start amir khan of in his career, like people forget that he has had 3 trainers in his career, so dont automatically presume its all the fighters fault, but can any1 honestly say roach would do much different to hatton, maybe he could guide him to some wins over witter, bradley and torres to have a secure 140 legacy

  3. At the end of the day, it's all about the bottom line. Money talks. If Ricky wants Roach, and he offers him enough money, Roach will find it very hard to say no.

Roach won't do it on principle. That is if he'sa man of his word and abides by his comments after the Pac fight.

    :thumbsup

At the moment he's getting a lot of credit as a trainer and he's not going to want to take a high-risk gamble by taking on Ricky Hatton.

If anything, he's going to look towards capitalizing by guiding Amir Khan to a win over Hatton (and even if Khan loses, Roach won't get much of the blame).

Before the fight Roach said he'd like to be Hatton new trainer.

I think Freddie was using a bit of psychological warfare against the crazily ego-blown Floyd sr.
He said it to get under the skin of his buffoonish rival.

Freddie was never seriously interested in taking on Hatton.

Well, Hatton/Roach was already a rumor days before the PacMan fight, I wouldn't be shocked if that happens.

Just make is sure Roach is the head trainer, in fact, no guy with a Beard in his name joins him. What was this Mayweather Sr. as an 'advisor' or 'consultant' thing they were talking about? If Ricky was under Sr's guidence 100%, it would've made a difference. But it seems they really f*cked it up.

At least the same can't happen with Roach. He'll say 'f*ck off Lee, and Ricky you can choose to stay or f*ck off with him'. But I think it's too late for a fighter who fought his career one-way and slightly over the hill physically it to change. Ricky should have one farewell fight for the fans and retire. Why not have Freddie in the corner, that's a good choice.

Good move if he plans on continuing, Roach has trained fighters from james Toney's shoulder roll to pacs pressure fighting style, Roach will not try change him, just work on what hes good at.

Defense is the key not chin and Hatton has fought 46 fights the way he does. There's a reason Roach recommended that he retires because he knows that improving his defense is out of the question.

Why doesn't Hatton just use the great Lee Beard? He'll talk over Freddy, be very disrespectful, & then Michael Moorer will handle him.

Agree and a leopard never changes his spots.
He should have stuck with BG...Freedie is the best around and knows he would be wasting his time

I think the only appeal for any Box office is a fight v Khan...but that's not going to happen

Better for Hatton to hang up his gloves.
