Haye wasn't forced into anything, if he didn't like the contract he could've just fought a guy like Chambers, Peter, or Johnson and become a mandatory.
The contract goes as follows.... Haye gets knocked out by Wladimir Klitschko on June 20th. End of contract.
My problem with the contract (or what we understand of it) isn't that it's unfair to Haye. The guy made a choice - make a name in the division/become a mandatory or take a shortcut with some strings attached. He's a big boy, he chose the latter. What bothers me is the precedent it may set - what if other promoters now start demanding 3 fight deals to make fights happen ("if you win a rematch, you have to fight this other guy I have under contract")? It's one more potential reason for good fights not to happen. It was a strange thing to demand and a strange thing to accept. I hope it fades away quickly, but in this sport, you never know.
I dont think he beats Wlad in there 1st fight and if by some ungodly chance he beats him and then beats him in the rematch..Vitali is a whole other ball game for him
That's one of my main issues. Imagine if Mosley was told - you can fight Margo, but you must then fight Cotto, and Pavlik afterwards - if you win. It's only happened this time because the Klits are brothers - but it's not a great start, and the fact they've demanded it - that's what is the issue with me. Thank god Haye really does have the self confidence of a lion, and the ball's of a T-Rex - he'll have the next 3 hardest fights in the division... Most likely - the IBF will strip him anyway - because he's trying to unify against Vitali rather than fight Randomguy FromXcountry with a 17:1 Record against no one with a winning record who we think makes a fantastic mandatory.
Some details of the contract have been released and they dont seem fair. After Haye knocks out Vlad the contract says that Haye has to give Vlad a rematch in Germany and Haye has to fight with one arm tied behind his back. After Haye knocks out Vlad again the contract says that he has to fight Vitali in Germany with Klits Mum being the ref and Haye has to where 90oz gloves with one of his hands attached to the back of his head the contract stated Haye also has to fight on one leg and has to do 1000 sit ups between rounds while Vitali gets his breath back. The Klits sure drive a hard bargain but they think its fair....................
Are the fights, rematches (Should Haye win) have to take place within a certain time table. (Can Haye take a fight inbetween?) Or does he have to go through the Klit torture chamber, back to I'll be back.
The Klitschko sisters are clearly overrated. Any good boxer could beat them. Unfortunately good boxers are in short supply these days.
We all know Haye has good boxing skills. The issue is whether he has the will to use his skill. He has succumbed to pressure in the past and I think he will do it again.
