WTF is up with fans who call for a boxers retirement after a loss? Miranda's got 4 losses, all against top-level opponents. He's still under 30 and can be an exciting fighter to watch - he's definitely exciting to listen to. But because he lost, he should retire? I guess only champions and legitimate contenders with title potential should be fighting, and everyone else should just retire? Taylor should retire, Hatton should retire, now Miranda should retire. What a ----ing joke.
He'll probably get a few knockouts over some C rated fighters and then evryone will build him up as being the most destructive fighter around then he'll face another A rated fighter and lose again.
A limited fighter skillwise that will always look great against 2nd tier fighters but will never be dominant against the best of any division !!
I think a go @ 175lbs should be his next bet. (He looked gassed, slow & out of steam more so than ever..) If he truly goes upwards of 200lbs between fight's, he needs to fight @ a higher weight? (maybe his punch resistance will improve also?)
I really dont believe he gains 40-70+ pounds in between fights. If he does he is an idiot for not taking care of himself properly And as far as skills go, Miranda was ALWAYS 1-Dimensional. Comes straight forward, zero defense, zero lateral movement, no footwork, no head movement, nothing. He beat 2nd rate guys because A-He is strong as hell and was a big 160 pounder. B-The guy has a huge punch. Problem? Against the top guys he is Always going to lose. Plus I think he gets discouraged when he finds out the guy isnt afraid of his punch. Such as what happened with Pavlik and last night with Ward.
I was one of few that said Abraham by EARLY KO. Noone believed in me, nor Tocca... Miranda should be a decent gatekeeper at the 168lbs division.
Miranda will have to go back fighting class C fighters. He already lost all his fights against class A opponents. This is a text book defnition of what is "exposed". The guy is pure HYPE.
Miranda has no where to go but to sit down and expect that an up-comer comes and knocks on his door for yet another chance to get back to a position where he has the chance to ask for a title shot. Miranda didn't have the boxing skills and power alone doesn't take you nowhere but into oblivion, that's what happened when he stopped Eastman, broke AA's jaw, stopped Allan Green and was named the next big thing at one time, then he was slayed by KP, demolished by AA and now schooled by Andre Ward... He has to expect someone like Dirrel or even Allan Green want to fight him again.
