He is as raw as **** and should get himself a mainstream trainer but he does have potential and is exciting to watch. Despite his self hyping he does seem like a nice kid underneath it all....he showed his class last night by not taking advantage of a helpless fighter.
I agree, he did well not to just pumell him when his opponent was shot, but i think later on in his career he could get caught out ie rogan /sexton!! But i think he is looking a good prospect would like to see more fighters that come out at him , not ones who turn up for the money and fall over at the first dig!! Also like to see him tone up, but you can see he is trimming since his first few fights
i have dismissed fury until now...in his first or second pro fight he looked flimsy, soft round the middle, but the excuse was he had just come back from honeymoon and would be getting himself in better shape...last night his body looked transformed from that, much much stronger... he also showed a huge improvement to me last night...although still does things that concerns me, the way he turns his head away from oncoming shots instead of backing... i've met fury and the thing that surprised me when shaking hands with him was how feminine his handshake was...he has really small soft hands, and shakes hands with no grip at all....yet he seems to punch pretty hard.. this whole chisora v fury thing is heating up nicely i think, although chisora had his ear nibble thing friday night, he looked superb.. on the whole not sure how i feel about fury...is he good, or does his opposition make him look good...i dunno.....but he looked better last night than i've seen him this far.....and of course everyone keeps reminding me about his young age.
When I read he thread title I though you meant he'd punched himself in the face again. Good lad though, I've always liked Fury.
same here......fury looks like he could be good, we havent seen him backed up or tagged so we dont really know, but his combos power and punch selection is good. he should go travelling about for more experience. have a fight in germany, go to america get a top trainer, take it slow, he needs to physically bulk up. go to the wild card
He is certainly looking better. He simply needs to keep improving all over and he'll have a chance with size.
His body shots impressed me last night. He looked better than i've ever seen him. Plus he's a breath of fresh air, the commentators kept saying he was a man in hurry and it's true he approaches the game likes he's 39 and in the last chance saloon.
He's the best heavyweight in Great Britain at the Mo.... Only Dave Price can stop him. Whether he is world class ornot is another question.
Jury is still out for me but he reminds me of Richard Dunn in 76 who fought Ali....if he was to step up too quick I reckon he could end up like Richard...woefully out of his depth and in serious trouble. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=86bGJvaqMNE
People got to remember that he is only 20 years old. He will get stronger as he ages. As long as his team develops his skills with time, he is only gonna get better. If I was his team, I would not rush him. He has plenty of time to develop into a good fighter.
He seems to be getting visibly better by each fight. Though he's finishing fighters to soon, he needs a guy to take him at least 6 rounds.
It's nice when the biggest criticism is "he's knocking guys out too soon" I agree though he needs rounds, but who can give them to him? By all accounts he cleaned out Germany which is were all the best big boys are.
He's kinda stuck. Belshaw is just outside the top domestic fighters and he is finishing him in less than 2 rounds. But he's probally to inexperienced to fight guys like Williams, Skelton and Rogan. I think he needs a good american fighter who can give him a good few rounds.
