I believe that the version of Corrales that Floyd beat was atleast as good a victory as Pacquiao's over Barrera, and a much greater victory then Pacquiao's victory over what was a faded Morales who just lost to Zahir Raheem who in his next fight would go one to lose an SD over acelino Frietas who had been TKO'd by Chico 2 fights earlier. I also believe Castillo is a lock given that he would go on to have the best stretch of his career after dropping 2 decisions to Floyd. Victories over Diaz, Casa, and Chico. Of course Morales and Barrera are bigger names given their following bu I think its clear that Corrales and Castillo at that stage in their careers were the better fresher fighters.

Not descrediting, but stating facts. Junior Jones had beaten Barrera, and Raheem had beaten Morales, before Pac beat him.

Corrales fought 5 times at 130 before he fought Floyd and would go on to fight at 130 4 times after he fought Floyd. Its not like it wasnt his weight. The court issues might have been in his head, but Floyd dominated him so completely that I dont think a completely relaxed Corrales could have stood a chance.

Most that thought Floyd lost to JCC can rarely provide a decent scorecard. Still Pac did lose to Morales. Clearly.

Corrales was ranked inside the top 10. Cant remember if Castillo was or not but he was firmly the best 135lber in the world.

castillo beat mayweather in fight 1 imo,but im gonna say mayweathers because of what jlc&chico acheived post mayweather although pacs were brilliant wins, probably about as close to equal as you can get tbh

    Good post.

As I said, I believe Pacquiaos victory over Barrera at 126 was atleast the equal of Floyds victory over Corrales and castillo. However, I dont believe Pacs victory over Morales ranks at that level. Morales was clearly on the downswing in his career. Another thing that I think works in Floyds favor is that both Corrales and Castillo's best days were infront of them, they'd go on to both have very successful careers, while Barrera and Morales best days were behind them.

Oh and Corrales did jump to lightweight, but he was back fighting at super feather just 2 fights later. Remember he won the IBA and WBO belts off of CAsa at 130.

the second figth between morales and paquiao was not because of the fact tha morales beat him kind a easy and contrary to maywheter and castilo which was full o controversy and still today people argue who won the figth:hi:

Casamayor and Acelino Frietas are greater victories then Rocky Juarez and what was most likley a shot Morales. And both Corrales and Castillo reached the P4P list after losing to Floyd. Castillo was P4P 9 when he lost to Hatton.

Pac's victories simply because both MAB and Morales were ranked higher when pac beat them especially MAB at #3 p4p with a hot win streak and was considered the "man" at featherweight.

close, but even wins over past their prime versions of both mab and morales had alot more meaning than the victories over jlc and corrales. pacman had decisive victories over both, especially stopping the iron chinned erik morales which no one had done before. mab and morales also had alot more consistency being at the top then both jlc and chico. plus, the majority of people think jlc beat floyd that first time. pac's resume overshadows floyds bad

its Mayweather wins. its not like Pac's wasnt good because there were great. but fighting Corrleas who was KO everybody and then take no tuneup fight and jump a weight class to fight the lineal champ at 135 in Castillo just makes it bigger wins

Meaning because of popularity. Or meaning because of skill of the fighters? Popularity I agree. However Corrales and Castillo were better at the time and accomplished more after.
