Chavez should of had one loss earlier in his career. Man Alive 1/3 of chavez opponents were TJ Taxi drivers. Jones all the way.

Yeah, Greg Haugen thought that too, BEFORE the Chavez fight.

Haugen was a tough SOB.....most boxing journalist thought Haugen would give Chavez a tough enough fight and go the distance.......

......but once Haugen started taking stabs at Chavez about his record being filled with taxi cab drivers, I remember this quote by Chavez...."No man is invincible, but Haugen I guarantee you on my worst night could not compete with me. I promise you all that I will make him pay in the ring, I will make him suffer."

.......anyone that saw the fight can testify that Chavez carried and castigated Haugen through five rounds before putting him out of his misery.

Chavez could have KO'd Haugen at any time after the 1st bell was rung.......but like Chavez had promised, he made Haugen pay for his comments.....

Chavez to Haugen at the post fight interview....."You still think I've only beaten taxi cab drivers?"

.....Haugen answers, "They must have been tough taxi cab drivers!":lol:LMAO

I voted for Chavez but the more I think about it ... I'd have to say Jones just for the fact that he won a HW title and that trumps everything - no matter who it was against ... this man started off at middleweight.

That fight meant nothing. Ruiz was perfectly cherrypicked.

JCC gets the slight edge based on Jones' civil servant tour right in the middle of his prime.

Chavez also holds the record for the largest crowd to attend a fight.

I voted for Roy, but I do think highly of the fact JCC fought so much in Mexico to stay active. I know a lot of them were construction workers and ****, but nonetheless the guy fought a lot and that's cool in my book.

Keep in mind that you can deduct 40 "construction workers" from JCC's resume and he still has a better record than Roy!

Im not fooled by the impressive numbers on Julio's record...but neither am I fooled by the all the trinkets Roy owned at one time or another.

I have Chavez ahead..not by a hell of a lot. He has the better overall record IMO..Id probably give Roy the edge in overall ability but Prime Chavez was no mug and its fairly close in that regard aswell.

Chavez was a warrior. Jones could never gut out a fight like Chavez did with Taylor. Jones was quicker but Chavez is more warrior and fought the best and looked to fight the best. Chavez is greater.

Yep, I do not think Jones should be recognized as a former heavyweight champion. That fight was ultimate cherry picking. That is the easiest heavyweight to beat for a good fighter in the lower weights in the last 50 years.
