Will Mayweather vs Pacquiao be a bigger event then Mayweather vs Dela Hoya?

there seems to be a lot of drama now since pacquiao's recent brutalization of dela hoya and hatton and now he's been p4p king for a while now
and now that floyd is coming back to fight marquez it just adds on to the excitement.

former p4p #1 fighter floyd mayweather fights p4p #2 fighter juan manuel marquez and if floyd beats marquez he fights pacquiao for the true p4p crown.

floyd vs manny would be a huge fight, even bigger than mayweather vs delahoya

    I doubt it.

From a fan's POV this fight will be better than DLH/PBF, but it won't surpass the PPV sales(if that's what you meant by bigger event)!

    I think so... yes.

2 p4p kings clashing for the biggest prize in boxing & both are close in age & not way past their peak, contrasting styles & personalities..... kinda like Whitaker/Chavez.

Yes, Pacquiao is prime and Mayweather (maybe) is still in is as well if the layoff didn't hurt him. Two fighters who both have a claim to the best pound for pound fighter in the world. Both are extremely well known. This fight could very well be bigger than Mayweather vs. De La Hoya.

It has the potential, but i doubt it very much. Both PBF and Pac are becoming big stars in the mainstream, but neither guy will ever have the kind of drawing power of a De La Hoya. That guy's fights were always mega events no matter who or when he fought.

i think it will be a great matchup, and it might surpass the skill and action of the floyd/de la hoya fight, but it will not beat it in PPV sales.

I'd still rather see Floyd vs Cotto.

It will be huge, I've talked to some people who've never ordered PPV in their life but would consider doing it for this fight. I would highly consider ordering it and I've only ordered one fight before.
