Well said Podge at the end of the day Garcia is still young and we all make mistakes!

Its very disapointing that he pulled out of this fight.

I believe the fight would have been televised aswell.....

If i was him I'd get back into this fight right the eff now.... beeing aggressively matched is the way to go, still can't believe it.... i was like niiiiiiice what a step up the dude got balls... and now it is the total opposite. at the end of day, no matter how we try to turn around the logics, it's still a lack of ball.... he is not scared of being hurt, but he is scared of MAYBE losing, a boxer who thinks like that has already lost in my opinion.

You guys are far too harsh on the young fellow!!

Campillo would have been a brute of a problem for the young Cuban talent at this stage of his career.
Stupid matchmaking to match him with Campillo in his 6th pro fight. The Spanish based fighter beat teak tough Danish based African Lolenga Mock his last outing to a ring.Rising supermiddle weight Murat had a death and life struggle with Campillo.
Besides it doesnt really matter how well the young Cuban would have done his job in the ring against Campillo anyway.
Campillo is a dangerous opponent, but totally unknown outside Spain.Very high risk, very little reward.
Money is the name of this game.Garcia could have damaged his markebility for good in that fight. An early loss can damage your future markebility beyond repair.Lets not forget that pro fighting is a brutal sport.Garcia doesnt fight for fun or for the adminiration of a handful of hardcore fight fans.He wants to make some decent bucks in the paid ranks.
As much as I would like to see the vast mayority of prize fighters matched more toughly as they are now, I have to accept the reality of our beloved sport.Money is the name of this game.
I am glad that a wise guy has cajoled Garcia into cancelling his upcomming encounter with Campillo.Far too early to rush him into big fights.......................for little money.
Obviously,Garcia's matchmaker had no clue who Campillo was.
    Bad matchmaking,bad management!

    Exactly!

campillo wasnt as dangerous as odo is making him out to be but he is certainly no bum and would have posed a good test for the young cuban.

I am in no doubt that a Fully Focus'd Luis Garcia would have taken care of him.

Clueless as you are, you must be Garcia's matchmaker!:D

No,Campillo is no big banger. You are right, but he managed to stop Nelongo.I guess you have no clue who Nelongo is,eh!
He is a black fighter from the islas Canarias/Spain.He went the full route of 12 rounds with both Zsolt Erdei and Clinton Woods at lightheavy.Campillo stopped him in round 5 of their encounter,at supermiddle.
Ever heard of Lolenga Mock, a Danish based African fighter?
Well, the teak tough African took the zero from Ndiaye away, knocked Charles Brewer out, went the full distance with Lucian Bute and Mario Veit, and shared the ring with David Haye. A very experienced and tough cookie this African.Campillo beat him in his last outing to a ring.
Karo Murat? Does this name tell you anything? No?
Murat is a young German based Armenian fighter who twice beat former champ Sanavia,a rising, promising talent.A top 20 fighter at supermiddle.Campillo, the lanky black Spanish based fighter made the water extremely hot for the Armenian ............in his backyard in Germany. He lost to Murat by mayority decision.
Campillo also beat Kharchenko who is a very decent journeyman.
All in all, Campillo is a very capable fighter, underrated and totally unknown outside Spain.
Dont get me wrong though! Campillo is no top dog at supermiddle nor is he is a unknown version of KingKong at supermiddle.
But.....................I have to repeat myself: money is the name of this game. Garcia is a young talent with 5 fights in the paid ranks. An inexperienced rookie who may have looked good against Froch in sparring, and who looked classy against very limited opposition in his 5 pro fights, but Campillo plays in a different dimension. He is too big a fish on Garcia's plate at this point of time,at this st age of his career.
VERY HIGH RISK, very little reward!

Besides Garcia doesnt fight to make bloodthirsty keyboard warriors happy, guys who dont give a damn about him and his further career. As all fighters Garcia wants to earn as many bucks in as short a time as possible. He wants to earn money.
In order to earn good bucks he needs a good matchmaker and a powerful promoter.
His matchmaker doesnt seem to have a clue about the pro business. To match Garcia -in his 6h pro fight-with Campillo,a dangerous but hardly recognisable name,is pure madness.
Good matchmaking is very important part of the pro game.

Bah,your statement that Garcia would have blown him away makes me laugh! Have you ever seen Campillo fight live or on tv? I guess you havent!

You should know what you talking about before making bold statements, mate!
