    Have you seen?

Marquez vs. Wheeler (Marotta: "I felt Marquez was the beneficiary of a corrupt stoppage")

Marquez vs. Norwood (Lampley: "Many ringside felt it went the wrong way")

Marquez vs. John ('Tropic Thunder' in a boxing ring)

    Marquez vs. Pacquiao II
    (no comment required)

(first 'L' we have been told was a "bogus" DQ in his first professional fight)

Why bring up a fight he won in a "should be undefeated" thread?

Besides that, 4 fights are alot to just dismiss. But really, this is why undefeated records are over-rated - lots of people have questionable losses. Close decisions/whacky reffing happen every day in boxing. Just gotta live with it.

Edit: answering my own question... now I get it, you're just looking at both sides of the coin with that Wheeler fight. I haven't seen 2 of those fights, but that's alot of results to make a case on.

Like Hopkins said, "If you don't have any losses then you shouldn't be fighting for a title, for you haven't fought anyone good yet."

You can make a case for it although i had Norwood beating him.

    Yes you can.
I thought he beat Pacquiao and John an Norwood could have gone either way.
The DQ loss was later found out to be bogus as the ref wa paid to do it.
So you can make a case.

Norwood beat him clearly enough. No, he isn't undefeated.

And Chris john too beat him. Every boxing expert had John winning the fight.

I read that this was the case so i did some investigation, and yes, there is a case. All his losses were controversial

There was a big thread on the Marquez John fight here on ESB a month or 2 ago (hit a shearch its a good read), and the solid opinion from those who had seen the fight was that Marquez had clearly won

I googled Marquez Norwood to see if i could find out if that was a clear loss and the article i came across said it was also controversial

There is very much a case that Juan Manuel Marquez is in truth undefeated

Why bring up ALL the facts around the issue? :rofl So it can hold ****ing water, that's why. The Wheeler outcome has EVERYTHING to do with a question like this. If you had Marquez ahead at the time of the stoppage - 5 seconds left in a fight that Juan Manuel was trailing on two of the cards, it doesn't matter regardless. This is an educated question, djm, not propaganda. Also, I want to know if anyone thinks Wheeler beat him. Speaking for myself.

You can't say Marquez is undefeated on the boxing you saw one person disagree with the Norwood decision. I had it 116-112, it was comfortably and clear. People just see that all his other fights can be disputed and then make a situation out of it by calling the Norwood fight a robbery. He isn't undefeated but it doesn't matter.

    He lost very close fights.

Not, there is not a case he is undefeated, not for me. I'm not interested in that sort of thing.
