I don't think Marquez and Vasquez get enough love and respect from the fans

I always know when a fighter is a big name when my cousin knows who he is.

I asked him if he knew who barrera was and he said:
"Oh yeah he fought the prince right?"

I still think its the small man syndrome. Barrera and Morales JMM and Pac are the Fab Four of this generation as featherweights and all of them eventually moved up in weight.

If Vasquez and Marquez move up the media will pay more attention to them but i doubt they will go past 126.

 

These guys are modern day warriors, there is NOTHING to not admire there. I'll remember those guys for as long as I live, true beasts.

Agree with the OP. In physical form, there is a dual autographed sportscard with Israel and Rafael that gets far less attention than it deserves. I have most of this Topps series, but the Vasquez/Marquez was the first I purchased and is the only card I have of dozens that is protected in a hard lucite case. It holds religious value for me.

 

I do give both fighters respect . . . but you are right . . . not enough from boxing pundits and I'm seeing this because they belong to the lower weight class.
