    Cotto

-Keep the fight in the middle of the ring

    -Focus on the body

    -Stay off the ropes

-If you end up on the ropes do not just stay there and bend down and weave to avoid punches you ain't Mayweather and it opens you up for uppercuts

-Box smart, get your combos off and move away

-Do not try to KO him, fight to win the rounds

-U have the bettter Jab use it

-Pay special attention to his uppercut, I hope you have improved your defense for that punch if not you will loose because he will hurt you, that simple

    Clottey

-Test his heart and chin early, has he been damaged by Margo? let's find out

-I know you are not really a preassure fighter, but you better be for this fight pressure is Cottos, kriptonite

-Get him on the ropes and keep him there, throw and land that uppercut multiple times

-Do not try to box with him, he is the much better boxer, make him fight your fight, inside fighting and against the ropes is what you want

-Vary your defensive stance, your best Winky Wright impression is not going to work on Cotto he will kill your body and hip bone

-Work his body early, if you tire him out you have a better chance of KO-ing him late he has stamina issues

    Good luck top both guys!!

My support lies with Cotto, Boricua baby!!!

    Tough, tough, fight!!!

    Post your keys please.

    Good Stuff :good

The one thing the Margarito vs Cotto fight taught is that Cotto has issues with pressure fighters who can take a punch. Clottey needs to keep Cotto off-balance so he doesn't have time to think and he will have a very good chance of beating him.

Yeah, and I noticed Clottey fights somewhat like Margo, *hopefully without plaster* I just notice that Clottey likes to go into his shell alot, which will lead to destroyed kidneys with Cotto

    That's QUALITY, Bronx! :thumbsup

I agree with all your points, I see the same keys working for them. I wouldn't add anything only that it's a very interesting clash of styles therefore it's a very hard fight to predict. Whoever will able to fight his fight is going to win. Lol, that didn't sound like an expert call, did it?

Clottey is margarito plus boxing skills combination punching quickness and I think one of the best defense in the boxing very underated fighter with underated boxing skills all this is very good for him against Cotto. I think Cotto will have to use all of his punches and try to keep Clottey off his rythem. I think this could be very hard for Cotto will need his career best.

I tend to agree, but Cotto was headhunting recklessly in his fight with Margo. I hope he remembers what a great bodypuncher he is.

excellent job at pointing out the keys to victory. The main ones Cotto has to definitely do is, stay off the ropes and just win rounds(not to head hunt and go for the KO, because it's not happening). No matter what it'll be a tough fight, but if he can execute all these things, he should win a clear UD.

For Clotey above all else he needs to let his hands go. He is one of the fighters who when I watch I scream at the tv the whole time to throw more punches.

Ehh, guys like Felix Flores, Margo, and Baldomir all gave Clottey problems when they backed him up. I hope Cotto realizes this and comes straight forward instead of boxing in this fight. It would make for much better action.

    Great post Bronx.

The only thing that I will add is:

    Cotto:

    - When you see Clottey in the turtle shell defense make him pay and move. He can't see anything with his hands in his face.

    - When Clottey takes breaks in rounds take advante of that. He tends to slow his pace at times.
