Anthony "the black superman" Mundine: Boxing's most unfitting moniker?

All true but the fact is Aborigional's over here in aus refer to themselves as black so what can you do.

Anyway, 'the black superman' is down the list on embarrasing things about Mundine. He is a basically a fool. He fits that definition more than anybody else i've ever witnessed. It doesn't matter that he makes lots of money from his foolishness, or that he is a great athlete, he is a fool. No more, no less.

 

"Aboriginal Superman" just doesn't have the ring to it, does it?

If you have any decent "non-racially-vilifying" alternatives, let's hear it.

Maybe "Dreamtime Superman".......

Seriously, give the guy a break, he is helping boxing in Australia.

Thats a bit much mate.....hes very good at what he does...
knows his limits.....doesn't drink, smoke or take drugs, great roll model for everybody.....not just aboriginals...puts allot back into the community

So he's a fool because he says has the best....maybe your a fool because you cant see its just hype and marketing for his fights

Look the fact is he does not need to use the try-hard Ali stich to promote him self. he would attract anyway interest because of his appeal as an ex rugby player, his father and his aborigionality. Sure a few people turn up because they want to see him get knocked out, how a lot more people would turn up if they knew he was a nice guy. He doesnt have the wit or charisma to pull of his fake arrogance, he stutters when he talks, uses big words out of context, prefers circus hype rather being taken seriously, is an aborigional muslim who acts like a black american. When Ali and Floyd say they are the best they back it up in the ring. Mundine doesn't. Mundine has so little self identity he adopted a religion because his hero (ali) practiced it. Mundines biggest accomplishments are a competitive loss to Kessler, victories over Echols, Green, Solimon and Geale. He is a fool, and unless he actually becomes a great boxer, he will only be remembered that way.

We are questioning why he need to pretend to be a black African-american assuming the rap-culture etc?

Noone is questioning that he has aborigenal blood, but rather that he assumes this African-american inner city facade.

THAT makes his version of 'black' inauthentic as hell!

 

Actually he only started calling himself the black superman after he heard Don King label Roy Jones that after one of his fights, so in Mundines true style of always trying to copy other fighters such as thinking he can talk like Ali, bringing a chicken to a press conference not long after Floyd did it about oscar, and trying to fight like RJJ, in his true unoriginal bull**** he ripped the black superman name from RJJ as well.
