Valuev did not by any means win their first fight. I have a feeling Chagaev has hepititis. Sure he was rumoured to have it ages ago. I may be wrong though.
So what do you guys think is the most possible scenario for the future of this fight. 1. Arrange it in the future someday ? 2. Valuev gets the belt and is the only World Champion (WBA) and about to face Ruiz? :-(
No vaccine for hep C ...10% cure rate. B can be deadly too, but one has a better chance of with proper treatment SOON enough to not to be one of the 10% that gets cirrhosis of the liver.
This WBA situation is very frustrating. I have read on this board that Chagaev have Hapatitis. So I guess it was known to health authorities. Why cancel the show in the last minute?
Blood samples had too much differences to what were taken at German.... I have conspiracy Theory, I think Don King Knew this already that in Finland rules about medical condition are tighter and Chagaev would never past those blood sample tests. Don King>>>Big money check for Finnish professional boxing union>>>no Fight>>> Valuev keeping the belt in "Family">>>Triangle of Hell keep going Between Valuev-Ruiz-someone>>>Secured money molking for Don King and his Bad Companydeal
That statement seems to contradict itself. Did the Finnish boxing federation refuse to license it, or did Sauerland call it off after seeing the test results? There might be different rules and regulations in different countries, but diseases spread the same in them all. If Sauerland genuinely are concerned about Valuev's health then they can't allow the fight to happen in any country. If Sauerland rather than the Finnish Boxing Fed called it off and Chagaev isn't really a risk then Valuev should be stripped of his title; If Chagaev is a risk to the health of other boxers he should loose his licence. The whole farce of two WBA champs should get sorted out after this one way or the other.
**** that sucks. I was looking forward to this fight ... if not just because it might finally end the WBA roundabout and open a possibility of a unification fight with Vitali. ****.
Finnish Boxing Federation called it off...I heard that Chagaev has Hep.A for about 5 years with a steady low virus-flow in him immune-system which normally gets him a licence for boxing...on Thursday, Sauerland wanted to make sure, that this is still the case and wanted CHagev to test for it...but this time, the blood samples revealed a far more high percentage of viruses in Chagaevs body which could have let to an infection for Valuev in a fight...so the Finns called it off for the well-being of Valuev, plus Meehan fell trough due to Don King's refusual to negotiate via telephone (he may have feared to get the monitary short end) and Brewster refused to fight b/c of him not being in shape for 12 rounds...the rest of the card is on again, maybe not the EU-welterweight championship fight Bundu vs. Shabani but the other fights...
Thanks for clearing that up. It seems unlikely to me that Chagaev can fight again at world level. Maybe different countries will license him to fight but if there is a risk of other fighters catching hep (even hep A,) I would think most promoters would avoid putting their big names in with him. I guess there is no telling what the WBA will do but it seems ridiculous to try and re-arrange the fight now, at least if another test is likely to give the same result.
