What problem exactly. These fights could not be made and DLH went out and sought other worthy challenges!

Oscar went on to get beat by Hopkins in a two fight turnament where he got 30 million plus promoted fully by GBP.

Compare that to Tito's 10 million.

there was no "act of god" involved. it was only money that got in the way. of course they could have been made.

never knew about any tournament. thats news to me.

but my point was - that rematches with tito and shane could have been made - there's no point talking money to try and offset my point because everyone knew oscar went for hopkins as a 3rd option.

you're taking my point out of context if you think i'm a detractor.
i've as much respect as anyone for oscar's resume, i'm simply throwing in my two cents worth in a 'perfect world' scenario.

That never happened, NEVER!!! So STFU!!!!!!!!

Tito only demanded what was stated in their first contract's rematch clause, names be switched and Don King promotes the fight....Tito wanted to make what Oscar made in their first fight and Oscar would make what Tito made but Oscar NEVER showed up to the meeting in NYC a week after their fight in 1999. All that **** you are saying is BULL**** people made up so show a source or shut the **** up......

So you are saying that there first contract had a clause that said that if Tito won the purses would be switched in a rematch? This is the first I am hearing about this.

you seem to pull a few offers off the top of your head - and since i certainly don't remember (and rarely do) offers and conditions but a couple of people have just called you out questioning that maybe you're posting this out of convenience and it's BS, maybe you can back it up?

EDIT : forget it. i thought both guys above were questioning the authenticity of your claim. only one was. i'll go back to sleep....

Ohhh Papa, Im not saying that just bullshitting Woo...Its well documented bro....Ask anyone who knows the story behind the fight....

The clause stated "purses switched, name switched and promoters switched ALL to which Oscar/Arum agreed....

Im sure you know who Chegui Torres was right? Well have you ever heard of the feud between Torres and Papa Trinidad? The fight was the cause, because when the fight first came up, Oscar/Arum offered Tito a $1 million dollars to which Papa Trinidad responded **** THAT my son is worth more than that and told Oscar/Arum, nevermind you keep going your way and we will keep going our way but keep in mind sooner or later we will have to meet in the ring. Well Torres kept telling the Trinidads to take the $1 million dollars kind like siding with Oscar/Arum, Papa Trinidad took offense to that and told him to **** off too. But look Papa Trinidad stood his grounds and got his son a $10 million dollars payday and his career took off like a rocket.....

On a side topic, why do Puerto Ricans use that Ohh Papa or Ohh papi when they post.......................it sounds gay as hell.

Back on topic. The Switching the names on the original contract for the rematch is also the way I remember the Tito/DLH negotiations!
