I can't say he did, that man has taken a lot of ass beatings. I respect him a lot for that.

It's impossible to fight "everybody", but Oscar's a guy who deserves the benefit of the doubt and he's got about the best resume possible out of his contemporaries. Nearly half of his fights were against current, former, or future champs, and he fought great fighters in their prime along with the few that were past it. 29 of his 45 fights were for titles.

Regardless of whether you scored a couple of his wins against him, or thought he got robbed of one or two of them, the guy deserves all the respect for fighting that kind of resume.

It was the same situation with Kostya Tszyu. Just a bad loss at the wrong time for them. Can't put that on Oscar.

He clearly avoided Winky when he was at 154 and Winky was the IBF champ. I can not be bothered to discuss this any further. If you were following boxing at that that you would know.

Nah he fought just about the best in every weight class he was in.
    Lets take a closer look

    130- Bredahl -he ducked Chicanito

    135-paez-molina-ruelas-hernandez-leija
    Paez's weight was 130
John John Molina was not the best of 135
Hernandez-how does he qualify as the best at that weight

    147-whitaker-camacho-chavez-quartey-carr-trinidad-mosley-gatti-pacquiao
Camacho at this point was a shell of himself

Oscar fought big names but mostly way after they peaked

    He clearly avoided Winky??? Please.

DLH moved up from 147 to 154 and beat Javier Castillejo in his first fight in that division and Castillejos 8th defense.

Then he fights and KO Vargas who had already beaten Winky.

Then he gets a much needed tune up with Yory Boy in preparation to the long awaited, highly anticipated Mosley rematch.

He then moves up to fight Hopkins. While Winky fights Mosley.

Oscar then offered Winky 6 mil, Winky declined.

So tell me Patsys, when, and why should of DLH fought Winky, as oppsed to the man that beat Winky, and the man who beat DLH, and then Hopkins????

Margarito was a worthless fight and would have proven to be even more worthless with him exposed as a cheater and a fraud currently suspended for it. DLH made it too obvious that he wanted Cotto as Cotto was undefeated and was far more popular than Margarito will ever be, Cotto failed the test so Pacquiao took it immediately and it proved to be FAR better for boxing. Look where Pacquiao is now and what possible fights he might bring and look where Margarito is. DLH isn't a smart successful business man for nothing.

A guy in DLH's ability doesn't fight guys like Hopkins/Whitaker/Trinidad/Pacquiao/Mayweather/Vargas/Mosley and MANY others yet "avoid" a tomato can quality fighter like Margarito. What he avoided is the uselessness in fighting and beating him.

I did not. Vargas won a close fight, Winky didn't do enough to steal the later rounds.

The fight was back and forth, but Vargas was making the fight happen. It appeared that Winky was landing the cleaner shots, but Vargas was landing the harder ones, and with more regularity.

I don't think that he ducked Forrest as some of you have stated. Let's think about it what is Forrest claim to fame: defeating Mosley. Other than that what did he do right after the 2 Mosley fights: get KO by Mayorga.

You can perhaps make a case for Winky but then again why is Winky on the map; for beating Mosley. The other name on Winky's resume relevant at the time was Fernando Vargas who he has a L to.

Now if you saw the hype for the Vargas fight how do you think the promotion and selling of a Winky fight would go?

DLH started his career at 130 and people are going to fault him for not fighting Azuma Nelson @ 130?

I guess if someone is in your weight division and you don't fight him than you are obviously ducking him.
