Oscar for one was a part time fighter and full time business man. Shane is a full time boxer and obviously Team PAC and Roach felt DLH wouldn't accept a fight below 147. And they really wanted to make the fight.

The entire landscape has changed now.....PAC is holding the wild card by being the one they all want to face and he's enjoying the perks of being #1 P4P and the money man in the sport.

Shane like PAC knew they had to accept some terms that were not favorable for them in order to get "the man" in the ring. Shane obviously feels he can beat PAC at a catch weight and is willing to put himself at a slight disadvantage to do so. PAC had to do it for DLH and now Shane is doing it for the chance at fighting PAC.

A few days back, telemundo had reported the Pac-Mosley matchup at a 80/20 split in Pac's favor.....

.....I doubt very much that Mosley will get as high as a 40% split......

It was Mosley who had proposed that 80/20 split, but surely that split may have been had Pac been willing to come up to 147 lbs......its possible now that Mosley will get a better split by coming down and meeting Pac at 144 lbs.....

In any regards, this is Mosley we're talking about....he's a fighter that would go to any lenghths to get a fight done he wanted made......
If this matchup does'nt take place, its because Roach and Pacquiao are not secure and confident they can beat Mosley.

Btw, I dont think its a ***** move by Pacquiao at all......Pacquiao is not a welterweight, Mosley is......
Mosley is proven at 147 lbs in recent fights, where DLH had'nt campaigned there for almost a decade...thus the reason why Pac willing to go all the way up to 147 lbs with DLH......

......had Mosley been campaigning at 154 for years as DLH had, he may very well take the Mosley fight at 147 lbs......but it is'nt the case.......A fight at 147 lbs and Mosley is walking in that ring at 160 lbs and so much stronger than Pacquiao.....a catch weigh is more than fair imo.

Since Pacquaio is willing to take only big fights, if Marquez wins could we see Pac/JMM even if he loses to Mosley?

Agree, the way Shane managed to regain his weight over night versus Margo might cause serous problems for Pac, + Shane knows how to tire guys out with pressure and clinching, not to mention the guy dont know the word "quit" so it will be very long 12 rounds for Manny, GOGO Pacman :good

Which is horse****. It's funny because DLH had planned to fight at 147 last year after beating Forbes yet Mosley/Cotto/Mayweather have to make a catchweight. Hatton wasn't on the same level skillwise as these WWs. Hatton was as much of a threat as Valero is.

I've been a Sugar Shane fan for the longest. I'm hoping he can pull it off and doesn't weigh any less than 145.

Good perspective! I'm sure Mosely did propse the fight at 147 for a far less purse split. But either way this is great news and the fight will be made. PAC and Roach are supremely confident and why shouldn't they be. Shane......Shane swag is always on 100! He's ready, PAC is ready the fans have BEEN Ready. IT's on brah.

Pacquiao is a ****ing man, in every sense of the word. Despite the *******s, it's hard not to be a fan of the guy. He's the real deal when it comes to what a fighter is all about.

Shane can beat PAC at any weight....his talent, expericne and skills are still there. He's a P4P fighter himself. He doen't ballon up in weight like DLH did. BELIEVE ME! For the fans a catch weight presents a more EVEN match up between the two fighters. Both men have as much chance at winning as the other. Enjoy the fight no matter what the catch weight is.

Then hes going to have to wait a long time for the winner of Pac/Mosley. If Cotto and Floyd win, its a huge matchup between them with the winner of that fight getting the winner of Pac/Mosley.
