:good lol, cool avatar man. i'm gonna watch that ppv wrestling tomorrow. but back to the topic, sorry bro, whether pw would win this match or not it would not be a mismatch. i like williams, but the winky he fought is not the same hopkins fought a few years ago, plus winky was inactive for awhile. still, a very good, but not impressive win imo for williams. for one, hopkins does his best work with fighters that are stationary, like williams, and i'd like to see how williams would react to a knockdown like joe calzaghe did. i think this late in his career believe it or not hopkins is the best he's ever been. pw has been wobbled acouple of times by fighters with some pop in their punches like margarito and quintana, and their not considered big punchers. i think hopkins has enough to stun, hurt, and outsmart williams in a split decision. there's a reason why calzaghe didn't want a rematch with hopkins and neither did roy.
Right now, Hopkins is too big and ring savy for Paul Williams. Hes would exploit every weakness that Paul has. I think he would study the Quintana fight to learn how to out box him on the outside and i also don't think Williams is strong enough to handle Hopkins inside either. Paul losses his advantages if he moves in weight. He should try and make 154 for as long as he can.
Hopkins would beat Paul...EVEN COMPARING THE 2 OF EM THOUGH SHOWS THAT PAUL IS PRETTY DAMN GOOD OR DANGEROUS...WE WOULD NEVER COMPARE COTTO OR MAYWEATHER OR MOSLEY TO A BHOP IN A THREAD CUZ PEOPLE WOULD LOOK STUPID AT THE PERSON WHO STARTED THE THREAD! THOUGH BHOP WOULD EASILY TAKE THE PAUL FIGHT AND MAYBE BY KO IT JUST SHOWS THAT HE CAN DO SOMETHING ALOT OF OTHER FIGHTERS CANT EVEN ATTEMPT TO DO WITHOUT HURTING THEMSELVES IN GOIN UP AND DOWN 3 WEIGHT DIVISIONS!
See here's the only problem with most folks picking Hopkins here: Age. To me it's pretty much a toss up when you say: [Top 10 Fighter] vs. Hopkins Hopkins can beat most opponents but he cannot beat father time. After his last fight, there's really nothing more to prove. He would be better off moving on with his life and enjoying his money and hard-earned success.
Everything? Like what? You just listed the two things he might possibly have in his favor (though not by much). Hopkins would be the puncher, boxer, and much bigger, stronger man in this fight. Williams will have to go back to his million punches a minute style (and hope his chin is good enough) to try and outhustle the old man. Seeing how Hopkins dealt with a faster, more experienced pressure fightig southpaw in Clazaghe, and a tall, harder punching pressre fighter in Pavlik, it doesn't look good for Williams, stylistically.
A young hungry fighter with an agressive style named Taylor gave Hopkins all he could handle. I'm not saying Paul could do the same, but he has fast hands and unlike Taylor he has not seemed to tire in the later rounds. By no means would I just compare Paul to Pavlik without putting Taylor in there for another comparison.
