Clottey does not throw enough punches. I noticed that someone was mentioning their respective fights with Margarito but no-one compared their fights with Judah. Cotto Will outpoint Clottey comfortably. Clottey does not hit as hard as Margarito IMO, but Cotto will still need to be better defensively than against margo. I believe Cotto wins on pts 116-112 or 117-111.
i agree except for cotto getting his ass whipped part i'm not so sure about. clottey someitmes looks like he's not motivated and lazy as fk. here hoping lazy clottey doesn't show up on saturday.
I'm looking forward to this fight, it's Miguel Cotto's chance to get back to where he was and possibly begin a p4p type of career once again.
i'm looking forward to it as a boxing fan, but i don't think it will be fight of the century type material.
I think it's just the opposite. When Cotto is fresh and at his fastest, he'll narrowly be winning the early rounds, but Clottey will catch up to him.
It all depends on whether Clottey uses his turtle defense and let cotto fire off on him. Clottey hasnt fought anyone with the power like Cotto. So as long as he doesnt get into the mindset that his defensive shell and chin(that hasnt really been tested) believing no one can hurt him while he is in it. He can be hurt other than that Clottey wins 12SD.
Clottey does have a right hand, and a good one. Check out his fight with Margarito, Judah( especially) and Corales. Outside of the quadruple left hooks that he throws, i think his straight right hand is his second best punch because as he catches his opponents with it, they're not expecting it so it has more effect. He stunned Zab SEVERAL times with it. Its a perfect timed punch. He also stunned Margarito with a counter right uppercut on the way in.
That's because youre easily one of the dumbest motha****as on this forum...:good And have been known as such for quite some time now.
This is very simple in fact - Cotto and Clottey stepped up to pro boxing's top league for quite some time but not enough so that they are recognized as the best fighters in the business. So, it's up to fights like this to make either or both of them shine... Cotto tryin to ressurect that image of his as an unstopable force and a hungry fighter and Clottey commited to give life to the idea that he is a conservative force to be believed in by everybody. Not to be missed but I don't expect a thriller out of this, too much to lose, actually more to lose than to gain for either of them - something like Hoya and Quartey like someone mentioned in another thread, up to the last round to decide it.
Both fighters beat Judah up. AM does not hit hard imo. I can see Cotto winning by 116-112 if he fights the perfect fight, but Clottey won't let him. This is a tough fight for Cotto. If Cotto wins, it's all good, but I'd be shocked if he ko'd Clottey.
